Chapter 20 - Ending of wrong tears

When the announcement is about to be made from The Queen of Pladtioa herself, all the people gaze high into the sky and see a dark masculine silhouette standing at the very tip of The Great Fountain.

He wears a dark odd-shaped helmet, attire fit for the dark abyssal stars of space, the glowing electric lights of technology advanced than of the city, a cape stretching to his dark boots, a hazy solid purple mist within the region of his armpits, and a collar sharp enough to pierce rock, points upwards near its chin.

He propels his dark wings into the air and lifts his arm to the sky, with his two dark purple eyes shining a golden glow upon the people.

As it harnesses powerful dark energy, his voice magically resounds over the sky and releases its words to the people who are waiting for the Gifts of The Fountain to be delivered.

"The Great Fountain. Is this really what all of you pathetic humans long for? After all these years, it has mindfully stood among the restless waters of Pladtioa? What can you see from such a worthless object that shows no signs of functionality within its walls?"

The audience suddenly grows furious as it roars, yells, screams, screeches, and complains to the mysterious being. The wanderers bend their heads to the ground and hide as the audience raises their weapons to the dark figure. They hear loud, echoing masculine laughs resounding all over the atmosphere of Pladtioa. His palm fills with an expanding dark orb as he begins to speak his offensive words out to the entire world.

"What can you possibly see from such an ineffectual object that has been ABANDONED by its very builder?! How can this… possibly be approved by the Divine? I guess I will never understand, and if it is enough to get attention from them… so be it."

Asahi and Aletha remain silent as they watch Narcissa yelling at the figure in pure anger.

"A very courageous builder made this structure. Destroying it will fracture the peace and harmony of this world, and impending chaos will soon engulf the world once more. If you dare do this, you will unleash anarchy upon Gincad. Everyone has a soul within their bodies, even if it is in the meaning of representing a horrible emotion."

The intimidating dark-armored figure yells at the Queen with his deep electronic voice.

"I have tried to give respect towards something better, someone powerful, something greater than this horrible mistake. This isn't a Fountain; this is a heap of the mistakes this world has brought. Blatantly destroying it will give us free will, and one loses a string stolen from others."

The dark figure kneels and peers its head to the sky. He clenches his fists and waits for the audience to react. For just a moment, there is pure silence. He stares at the wanderers, and it seems as if time stopped just for that very moment in time.

However, when the archers from the back release their arrows to the being, it swiftly dodges them by darting away from it. Narcissa screams at the guards as the being gets ready to unsheathe his drastically powerful ability.

"Unleash fire upon the foul soul who dares try to threaten the world!"

Asahi and Aletha gulp, and the audience angrily throws rocks at the dark figure. The man swiftly controls the rocks and summons a bright magenta luminance glowing on the thrown rocks. The figure ruthlessly swings them towards the people and harms nearly twenty individuals from the audience.

The soft tone in his voice still lingers within his frustrated screams. Narcissa orders the archers to fire at the object, but upon doing so, those arrows get sent back to their owners and ruthlessly slaughters them in front of the people. Suddenly, the dark figure cries.

He cries so hard that his shrieks and desperate screams turn to inaudible vague laughter. The audience slowly panics as his cries steadily transform into pure psychotic laughs. His laughs are so rough and horrid that they made the audience's ears bleed.

With only just a few moments to spare, the wanderers try to flee to the forest and escape the area. But before doing so, they are immediately blocked from the guards.

"What are you doing here? Get back to the podium!"

Asahi tries to push the guard, and Aletha desperately pleads to the guards.

"We can't! There is a danger at the top of that Fountain. Please, listen to us and—

The guards quickly shake their heads and mindlessly push them away from their presence. The figure swings his hands up into the air and unleashes a lighting bolt striking through the ground. It injures one person while the others flee away from it.

"This region is a mistake. Derekin is supposed to rule, and he lost his life. How horrendous. I want to cease the misery of these people and solve this quandary. Solve this solution ONCE and FOR ALL!"

He lifts his arm and bursts a strong purple electric aura that surrounds his palms. The glare at his violet eyes grows strong. Narcissa screams at it as it generates a powerful atmosphere of pure electric energy.

"The Four Knights, attack the fiend!"

However, even after her orders… The Four Knights remain still. This just gave the dark figure a slight chuckle.

He hastily leaps into the air, and his fist and body fill with an intense violet aura. A strong violet lightning storm hovers over both the Great Fountain and the forest. Aletha suddenly glows a violet aura as well, and Asahi's eyes expand massively. He faultlessly muttered, not believing in what was happening.

"A...Aletha…"

As his figure hastily approaches the ground, he screams at the top of his lungs.

"For it is I.., Tear, will be the one who will finally settle this tragedy!"

As the wanderers and the rest gaze up into the darkened sky, a long giant violet streak forcefully pierces straight through the Great Fountain ruthlessly, a strong blossom of large magenta lasers penetrates through The Fountain from the inside out, showing slight hints of glowing purple cracks surrounding the Fountain.

There once is a faint sparkling flash before the entire collision goes against itself and spews out fragments of the shattering Fountain into the air. Ash flocks up, dust shrivels in the air, and the people begin to scream.

The Great Fountain is destroyed.

The Four Knights peer their eyes at the giant cloud of smoke rising into the air. Their eyes are filled with shock and terror. Belial clenches his fist and grits his teeth while his braided dark hair swings upwards from the violent wind. He furiously whispers to himself.

"It's… gone. Just like… that. And, we couldn't do anything about it."

Drimi touches his shoulders and briefly comforts him with a smile hidden underneath her mask. Her dark hair also swings upward, revealing both of her gorgeous glimmering amethyst eyes.

"It wasn't our fault… nor it wasn't their fault either… It was…"

She tightly bites her lip and shakes her head.

"It was… its fault."

Belial tilts his head to her, with his face filled with a confused expression.

"Its?"

Drimi clenches her fists and raises her voice. Her eyelashes gleam a delightful tone while keeping seriousness involved.

"We have to protect them…."

Belial replies with his face falling into tears, smears of blood, and stained ash.

"The Twins?"

Drimi wets her lips and peers straight at the massive cloud of ash and debris. She quietly murmurs to Belial.

"Yes, The Twins. Get them to safety!"

He nods his head and slides his foot against the cliff.

"We can't just mindlessly spectate what's happening in front of us. We need to fulfill our duties, just like the reason why we four are all together."

The entire group replies.

"YES!"

* * * * *

The scream of Narcissa echoes within the forest, mixing in with the frustrated screams from the crowd. Asahi and Aletha's faces are filled with panic and tedious amounts of sweat.

"Why does she want to capture us...? What did we do wrong?"

The sound of the crowd gradually grows more robust. Their yells, screams, and shouts slightly damage their ears, and dust blows towards the right, obstructing their vision. Asahi can see nothing but a thick dust cloud, dug-up fragments of the Fountain, and a slight shadow of Aletha in front of him. He screams at her in a painful tone.

"A...Aletha! Come here! I'm over here!"

His white hair gets tainted with a brownish hue. He feels like he is injured, wounded, and his life draining out right through his soul. As he limps towards what he thought is the forest, a loud desperate-sounding high-pitched scream disturbs the environment.

"AHHH!"

Asahi turns his head behind to hear loud slaps and beatings coming from the front of him. He can see four tall, dark silhouettes slicing their blades and kicking her in the shin. He recognizes the tone and pitch of that scream. It sounds... like his partner. His gray eyes tremble in absolute fear.

"Aletha…?"

His face scrunches up in anger shortly afterward after seeing her face smothered in a bright crimson liquid.

Asahi pushes his foot against the dirt and roughly charges at one of the men. His eyes fill with large dust particles scattering over itself.

As he crawls over to Aletha, he hears a loud masculine scream shouting at him in a natural tone.

"There's that outlander who denied The Queen's love. Slay him!"
