Father arrived home after sunset, stumbling into Darren's room with an exhausted expression on his face, but when he saw me standing there rocking the baby in my arms, he brightened up with a warm smile that was followed by tears.
"Of course, you would come home and go straight to your baby brother, to be expected of my daughter. And why is it that nobody informed me that you had arrived home?" He asked in a shaky voice, as he was crying in joy. Shrugging my shoulders to his complaint and his question, I went back to rocking the sleeping baby.
When he walked into the room with that expression on his face and immediately started crying in joy, about the seventh person that has done so today, it took me everything not to chuckle in amusement. It was warming to walk into my house and be greeted with love.
