"Are the ladies going to perform this evening?" A general asked, from the other end of the table, holding a wine glass, while focusing on me. Taking in a deep breath, I briefly touched my blade at my side, meeting his gaze. Kara, reached over, subtly shaking her head, as she was confused about my reaction, shoving another piece of spicy pork into my mouth, I looked at the other performers, as they were dancing with pieces of white silk cloths.
"We'll perform in a bit, we're just doing our greetings," Kara answered for us, and I nodded my head, agreeing with the answer, drinking more iced tea, to hide the fact that I was anxious about performing another sword dance, luckily Kara was my partner.
Zayn leaned over and whispered into my ear. "So the famous young duchess does get nervous." He chuckled lightly, and I rolled my eyes, not interested in confirming his comment, rather just getting another piece of meat.
