Waking up to the dark morning, staring at my ceiling, I smiled. It was finally the grand day. Christmas Day, where our yard was covered in snow, about three feet deep. I could faintly hear the sound of the wind whizzing by the window, the fireplace was lit, creating a warm atmosphere.
Sitting up from the warm bundles of blankets, I stared at the fireplace, thinking about how this day would go. shifting in my bed, I rested my back against the backboard, glancing at the digital clock that was resting on my nightstand. In a big red font, read the time of 4:30 A.M.
Although this wasn't my usual time to wake up, it was relaxing to know that the house will be quiet and peaceful. Other than the sounds of the crackling fire and the wind that was picking up, there wasn't a single sound. No steps were coming around the corner to scold me, or constant traffic of the maids cleaning up the house daily.
