Chapter 11
Ariel stared at Marcella when she drank her drink through the straw. He slowly frowned at her, and she realized it.
"Is there something wrong with me? Why are you staring at me like that?" said Marcella stared with her doe eyes. Ariel raised his sweet, thin smiled and bowed his head a bit.
"Are you sure you don't want to drink something?" Ariel asked her carefully.
"I'm drinking right now!" Marcella replied. Ariel chuckled softly at her. Inevitably, he loved to see her cute smiles.
She looked so innocent, and it was not a match to Artemis at all. Artemis should have a strong bad girl who always opposed him to do the right thing.
"Have you ever tasted a beer before?" asked Ariel staring at her. Marcella shook her head innocently.
"Do you want to try it?" he added by raising his bottle. Marcella seemed thoughtful for a while. She looked so cute when she rolled her eyes, thinking something too much. And it made, Ariel smiled by chance.
"Is it gonna make me drunk?" she asked innocently. Ariel chuckled more at her cuteness.
"Only if you drink more than ten bottles, I guess!" Ariel answered with a smile on his face. Marcella rounded her mouth and nodded.
"Uhm ..."
"That was just optional. It doesn't mean that you have to do it!" replied Ariel faster before saying anything. Marcella was staring at the bottle before then smiling and nodding at him.
"Okay, let's try then!" Ariel grinned and raised his left hand to call the waitress to order more beers. It's going to be a fun night!
Meanwhile, Dylan tried his best to race the newbie who already in front of him. He left almost seven feet away from him, and it was getting farther.
The time was going up, but both racers did not make it to the finish line yet. Miraya has been waiting nervously with both hands clenched. She has to see Dylan in the first place, or she has to make the crazy bet. How could Dylan do this to her? He put her as a trophy, unbelievable!
Moreover, who the hell was the newbie anyway? How could he showed up suddenly with a 100 million bet and asking for the cherry on the trophy? She cursed more and more in her heart.
Miraya's eyes were getting bigger when she saw at the end of the road. The bikers were competing fiercely to get to the finish line.
She bit her lower lips when she saw her boyfriend in front of the newbie rider. It was such a close range between them, and they would never let each other win.
Miraya closed her eyes when the bikes got closer and passed her on the side of the road. The cheers shouted louder to Miraya's drum ears.
When she opened her eyes, she could not see who the winner was. Too many people crowded in front and shouted even louder.
Miraya ran to the crowd to check who was the real winner. She prayed every step that it would be Dylan. But her face turned pale when she saw the newbie full-face helmet guy being cheered by so many people.
'Is he the winner?' Miraya asked her mind.
Her eyes automatically fast scanning Dylan. And he was nowhere to find.
"Where the hell is he?" muttered Miraya with her frown look. Suddenly, someone took her wrist and pulled her front. Echo was the one who pulled Miraya with him to be taken to the winner of the race, the newbie.
"W-Wait-" Miraya tried to let herself go, but she could not do anything other than being stunned.
"Remember the promise?" said The Echo turned his head to Miraya before she said something.
"But I never said, I'll accept the bet. I never agreed to anything of this race!" Miraya started to protest to The Echo.
"But your boyfriend said yes!" he cut her words abruptly.
"What! Are you selling me off!" Miraya shrieked in an annoying tone to The Echo. The newbie turned his head to see her through his helmet. Nobody knew his face or how he looks yet.
"This is the agreement! Dylan lost the race, and he put you as part of the bet also!" The Echo added to her more.
"For your information ..."
"HEY, WE GOTTA GO, THERE'RE COPS ... POLICE IS ON THE WAY!" shouted someone that quickly made the crowd messed chaotically. They ran and tried to save themselves. Miraya grasped to the sudden yell from somewhere and looked around her.
Miraya panicked and saw everybody around her run quickly. They escape as fast as they could. Meanwhile, Miraya was almost left behind. And panicked Miraya also has to do the same thing as well. She even could hear the cops sirene from a distance.
"I'm dead ... No doubt!" muttered Miraya with her frightful look. She tried to find a hideout to save herself, but she was running to an unknown place.
She fled to a random alley and kept looking back to avoid the cops. When she took a look around her, a hand suddenly pulled her waist to the back of the path.
Miraya shrieked, but her mouth was covered up by a hand. A black hand, because the owner used a pair of expensive leather gloves.
When she wanted to peek at the one who pulled her, she got shocked by the fact. That was the guy who just won the bet. And he still used the full-face helmet.
'Gosh, what the hell is he? A Kamen Black Rider cosplayer!' Miraya was nagging on her mind. She couldn't do anything yet, or the officers would find them hiding close to the stinky sewer.
Some officers shouted and loud noise calling their colleagues to run after the illegal's racers participant and spectators within a minute. Some officers were seen running along the alley to catch their 'preys.' It made Miraya felt so much stress right now.
Miraya calmly exhaled herself to control her pump-up adrenalin. She has never been chased like a criminal by now. After the officers passed their hideout, both of the dumbest fugitives titled heads together to the right side to check the situation.
When they realized what they were doing, they glanced and pushed each other apart. The guy seemed exhausted but kept the helmet on his head. His breath sounded like a runner who lost the finish line.
"Huh ... it's so hot, and I'm tired!" he muttered indistinctly but still squatting as Miraya did. They were squeezing themselves to the narrow side of the alley close to the gutter.
"What did you say?" asked Miraya while trying to listen to the man's voice more clearly.
"I said ..."
"Maybe you should take off your helmet. You are not in carnival anymore!" mocked Miraya bluntly.
The helmet guy was stunned to see her through his visor, but Miraya could not see his expression, whether he's annoyed or upset. He just stared at her without saying anything. Miraya started to frown at him and anticipate what he'll say next.
"You supposed to thank me, Miss Betting Award!" replied him curtly.
Miraya goggled at him and madly took the helmet and pulled it out from him.
"AAAHHHKK ... WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME!"
