Chereads / Hitman of ICARUS / Chapter 11 - Encounters I

Chapter 11 - Encounters I

After experiencing the new and innovative torture technique that I named Cheryl x Traffic.

We finally got in front a bar named Oasis. From the inside, there are performers on a stage singing some sort of pop song.

Circular tables here and there, and some furniture on the wall with matching tables.

Theres also the bar counter on the left side.

Apparently, Cheryl is a barmaid in here. She took me towards a room and introduced me to the manager of the bar.

I of course got hired, but since I have no prior experience and is an undergraduate. My employment was only considered as a part-time job with a minimum wage, this means that I could only work here temporarily for at most a year, and I would have to work hard if I were to aim to be a permanent employee.

The manager told me that my shift starts tomorrow night at 6 until midnight. I could adjust it accordingly as long as I complete the minimum of 6 hours per night and I inform the manager beforehand.

I don't have shifts during the weekends, so everything works perfectly for me.

After all the procedures was done I thanked the manager and went home before talking to Cheryl and thanking her. I suggested , with all my resolve, for us to go back together but she declined it saying she requested an overtime tonight, so I should go home first.

Of course, I did not insist like a gentleman should, no, not even in the slightest bit.

--------

I was waiting for a bus in a waiting shed. As I was sitting down and appreciating the vibe of the city, my enhanced hearing caught something vague but disturbing.

One thing that made ICARUS a unique country is the strict policy and law of nationwide gun ban.

So even if this country was filled with criminal organizations, it was still safer than the majority of the other existing countries due to the strict enforcement.

Back to the topic at hand. What I heard was a cry for bloodshed from 3 different people.

I followed it and found the source along a secluded alley.

I concealed my presence and watched the situation transpire. I saw 3 masked men wearing dark colored clothes encircling a guy while each holding a katana. The guy had numerous small wounds and one stab wound on his right arm. His hair was dirty blonde but his eyes looked like an asian's. Foxy eyes.

He was wearing a mask covering his mouth area. His shirt was torn to pieces and was displaying his back that is covered in tattoo.

He was breathing heavily while holding a katana of his own. Him and the masked men did not move from their spots and seemed to be on a deadlock.

One of the masked men talked with one of the thickest Japanese accent I've ever heard.

"You already killed too many of our men tonight. We cannot let you live."

I heard more footsteps coming towards their direction. So I reign in my curiosity and fled the scene.

I waited outside the alley, and sure enough there was a bunch of men running towards the scene while each wearing a mask of their own.

I found it interesting but I decided to go back home and sleep early so as not to be late for my first day of school tomorrow.

---------

Inside the alley. A masked, bloodied, and young man stood limply.

'This bastards aren't giving me any chance to flee.'

The three men that are pointing the tips of their katana at me, are part of the hostile yakuza clan. We've been at war for decades now, but this had been the most aggressive they had been.

Me and my men was sent by the clan head in their territory to sign some sort of agreement between our clans.

I expected them to double-cross us and attack all of my men, but not to the point were they would chase me up until near the borders of my clan's territory.

I just need to run some more and reach our nearest branch base.

Any second now and reinforcements will come and I'd be overwhelmed, so I acted Immediately and started eliminating the men in front of me.

I've already killed 12 of their men earlier and sustained a severe wound, but I'm confident that this 3 don't stand a chance against me.

Simply because I have a trump card.

I was born with an abnormal reaction time and reflex as well as a highly accurate deductive ability that let's me predict my enemy's next move.

So it basically enabled me to see a few seconds into the future.

I dodged all the attacks of the three men coming from all directions.

My abilities enabled me to see everything on a slower pace if I were to focus completely, but my stab wound hindered me a bit so I took a little more time to finish all three of them off.

After eliminating all three of them, I limped away as fast as I can, away from the alley. When suddenly, a door opened and a girl appeared.

I pushed her back inside and closed the door as fast as I can.

Then I sat on the floor and supported my back with the wall while listening to the shouts of my pursuers outside, then I looked at the girl.

The loss of blood made my vision blurry. She seemed to be saying something to me but my ears can only hear muffled sounds.

My vision faded away and I finally loss my consciousness.

-------

A streak of sunlight awoken me as I opened my eyes and scanned my surroundings.

"Morning? I, I survived? Where am I? What is this?"

I thought out loud while trying to sit to which followed a piercing pain. But my facial expression refuses to react on it.

"You're in pain. You should rest some more. You were heavily wounded when I found you last night."

A girl appeared from outside the bedroom I was laying down on and slowly sat at the foot of the bed.

"You....I saw you last night. Did you do all of these?" I told her while pointing at the bandages on my body, but she replied without looking at me.

"Yes. Now please listen to me and lay down again. I'll go prepare some food"

She exited the bedroom slowly and left me behind. I caressed my stab wound and realized something crucial.

'My mask! She removed it!? She saw my face and brand!'

I stood up alertly and went outside the bedroom towards the kitchen where I saw the back of the girl carefully slicing a carrot.

I approached her silently and picked up a knife.

'I have to do this. Please forgive me.'

When I was a few inches away from her and was about to stab the back of her neck. I realized she was trying to get something by carefully navigating the kitchen table with her hands, I halted my action when I realized something.

I've been with many women before but never have I ever seen a woman as memorable as her.

And I say that, not because of her curvaceous body, nor is it because of her red lips and perfectly sculpted face. I claim It because of her eyes.

It looked so pure and innocent when I gazed at it.

"You...you're blind?"

She was startled when she realized I suddenly appeared and talked to her.

But she composed herself immediately and smiled as she replied.

"That's pretty rude you know..... I'm Priyanka Sushmita by the way."

"....My name's Kyle...Kyle Kazama"
