Reunited, the group sat together around the small fire and they all filled each other in on what they knew. Ilona and Mason were the only ones who hadn't eaten, so they listened and ate first while the others talked.
Ilona was thankful for the delay. She wasn't looking forward to telling them about Vane. She knew they would all be relieved he was gone, but it still wasn't a pleasant thing. He had been one of them, a member of their crew. The others had been as well. They may have turned out to be twisted and treacherous in the end, but before they had come to this island, they had sailed together for a very long time. Part of them would still mourn the losses, even if they knew it had to be done.
