As the winds picked up and the clouds gathered, Ilona crept back towards the mouth of the cave. She hadn't come up with a specific plan yet, but that didn't matter to her. Pierce Vane had taken away so many people she loved, and now she would take away his life. That was all that really mattered.
Now that she was on the ground instead of in the tree, Ilona could see that something was happening in the cave, although she couldn't tell what. Shadows were passing and light flashing, along with some shouting and banging. None of the pirates were coming out yet, however, so she sank down behind some bushes and prepared to wait.
