"We'll be back in a day or two," Ilona told her mother as she gathered some of her things to leave, "Jamie knows where to find us, so if you need us, send him."
"We'll be fine," Anja said, although she didn't look pleased to see her daughter leaving, "Keep his wounds clean and dry."
"I will," Ilona assured her.
She got to her feet, swinging her bag over her shoulder and securing her swords in place. She glanced over to the main entrance to the cave and saw Mason had propped himself up against the wall, but his eyes were closed. Ilona hesitated, not sure he should make the trip after the night he'd had.
"He'll be alright," Nick said then as if reading her mind. He came up beside her and joined Ilona in studying the worn-down-looking Prince. Nick didn't look much better himself, but he had ended up with only one spot on his arm that had needed stitches, and he had already changed into fresh, dry clothes.
