Raindrops fell as Ilona worked soap through Mason's long golden curls. His eyes were closed as he focused on slowly breathing, but the feeling of her skin against his was something he couldn't ignore.
When a low rumble of thunder sounded, Mason automatically opened his eyes, and his heart skipped a beat when he found Ilona's face so close. Her gaze met his, and they were both still.
"Do you... Do you want me to stop?" she whispered.
"No," he quickly choked out the words, "No, don't. Don't stop."
Ilona bit her lip, trying to stop her smile.
Mason couldn't smile though. His heart was pounding too hard, and his body was so tense it could snap. It was all he could do to keep from touching her and ruining everything. His body was aching for him to take hold of her and pull her close.
