Mason looked up at Jamie, where he'd now climbed at least half a dozen feet above the Prince's head. As the ship rocked on the waves, the boy swayed. Mason sighed and looked again down at the churning ocean against the side of the ship.
"Stop that," Jamie laughed at him, "If you look down at the water, you will be too scared to come up."
Mason pursed his lips as he looked up at the beaming face. "I think I might already be too scared."
"Come on, Mace! It's nothing!"
"I don't agree," the other man scoffed.
Jamie stared at him hard. He slid his legs into the ladder rungs and hooked his ankles into the ones below him. He let go with his hands until he was hanging just by the strength in his legs. He folded his arm across his chest.
