It is said that unanswered questions are far less dangerous than unquestioned answers. Right now, sitting beside this mysterious angel, I wondered should I ask the questions or just wait for another emotional breakdown of his and get another glimpse of his life. I decided to clearly ignore the loud and clear message in the saying and let the answers come to me with time. We had a huge problem to deal with. After my little getting pulled by an angel debacle, the media now made me the villain and came up with some supernatural theories. I didn't know you have to be well versed in writing fiction to work at a media house. Almost all the reporters either talked about how I need to visit a psychiatrist or how I was in need of getting exorcised. Some of my favourite theories were 'Kim Song's affair with a spirit is a bigger scandal or Sung Ho's human ex?', 'Is Kim Song another Emily Rose' and the last one 'Kim Song's mental health on the verge of collapsing. An end to the era of The Ace.' I must say these people came up with some really cool theories. And the video that was playing was actually giving me creeps as well. When this happened, Jung Suk was there and right now while watching this video I knew it was Jung Suk in that empty space, but the visuals were scary. I was literally pulled into the apartment by nothing. "I did mess up big time out there, didn't I?", Jung Suk said. He was still embarrassed by his hasty actions. "It's okay. We need to find a solution to this.", I said switching off the television. Jung Suk was as lost as me.
We were both thinking of different ways to deal with these theories when an unexpected guest arrived. The doorbell rang and we both looked at each other confused. Who could come to my apartment at this time? It was almost 12:00am. I went to the door and opened it slightly. Chan was standing at the door wearing a bucket hat and an oversize t-shirt. I opened the door a little more, enough for him to enter. I noticed he was carrying two bags of salt. "Chan seriously?", I asked. Being a supernatural fan, I very well knew salt was used to keep the bad spirits away. Chan handed me one bag and took the other one inside. "I don't care what anyone says, I brought these as a precaution Miss Song.", he defended himself. "There is no spirit here Chan.", I said placing the salt on the table. "Yeah! The next thing the company wants is a video of you walking on the roof upside down.", Chan almost yelled. His sudden outburst amused our cry baby. Jung Suk burst out laughing. "How dare you raise your voice, Chan. And you also feel I am crazy?", I asked in a low but scary tone. Chan visibly gulped and smiled sheepishly. "No, Miss Song. I just feel there might be some supernatural entity haunting this place.", he said. I ignored him and walked into the living area. I sat on the couch and Chan followed me, followed by a very excited Jung Suk. "Miss Song, you did keep your dad's dead body in this house for a whole week. There could be a possibility of spirits living in this place.", he tried to make sense. My eyes went from normal to the size of a saucer at hearing this new secret. "I…I kept my dad's dead body?", I stuttered. "You don't remember Miss Song?", he asked a little tense. I was scared to the core by this Kim Song now. And I was even more scared to know the whole incident. I looked at Jung Suk, who was now looking very serious but as clueless as me. I raised my eyebrows asking him if he knows anything about this. He shook his head and said, "Ask him what happened?". Chan was observing me closely and when he saw me raising my eyebrows, he looked behind to see who it was. Finding no one there he again looked at me closely and asked, "Miss Song are you okay?". I nodded. "I don't remember anything about my father.", I confessed. "It is not a beautiful part of your life Miss Song. Makes sense you forgot about it.", he was now talking to himself. "Chan, I want to know.", I demanded. He looked at me for a few seconds and then nodded. "Your dad Mr Kim cannot be defined as a good man. But he did love his daughters and you loved him too. Once you came here as a trainee, a month or so after that he cheated on your mom and left your family. He was in a romantic relationship with Bong Soo's mom.", he started to narrate the story. "Bong Soo?", I asked looking at Jung Suk and then back at Chan. "Miss Song you are really scaring me now. You don't remember your own band member?", he asked. "Oh! That Bong Soo. Yeah, I got it.", I faked. I had no idea who Bong Soo was. "So, when you realised what actually happened, you went to talk some sense into him but he refused to even meet you. Bong Soo and you became close friends because both of you didn't like the relationship your parents had. Then one day your dad went missing and after a week his dead body was found near Han River. You didn't let anyone touch his body for a week and kept it here. Your mother had to come and convince you to let it go.", he took a breath as the whole narration ended. "So, me being a complete maniac kept my dead father's body in this house?", I confirmed the last part again. Chan nodded. "Chan find me a new apartment as soon as possible.", I said and walked inside my room.
The moment I start believing maybe I am getting a hang of this Kim Song's personality; I was hit with another weird and completely creepy aspect of hers. Why would someone keep their father's body? Why would someone have a fake boyfriend? Why? How can someone be wired this wrong? "Are you okay?", I heard Jung Suk enter the room. "Did you know about this?", I asked. I wanted to know if he knew this or not. And if he did why did he agree to help this Kim Song. "No, I didn't. I wonder why no one mentioned this incident to me.", he said while taking a seat in the chair near the window. I sat on the bed with my head hanging low. I couldn't keep my thoughts straight. I didn't want to be in this body anymore. "Why does she mess up everything so much?", I asked him. My eyes were full of tears. Jung Suk stood up and came and sat beside me. "I wish I knew. But don't worry, I know you can sort out her life for her and open all the tangled knots.", he said and wrapped an arm around me. I placed my head on his shoulder and let the tears fall. In that second, I realised how it has not even been a day since we met, and we have both been a shoulder to cry on for each other. I had no idea who he really is or any idea about his past but somewhere I trusted him. Jung Suk on the other hand did his homework well and knew how to handle me.
Chan left after making 4 packets of ramen, one for me and three for Jung Suk. I remember the expression he had when I asked him to cook 4 packets. I even made him promise to bring lots and lots of dark chocolates the next morning. Apparently, one habit was common between me and Kim Song, we both hate dark chocolates. So, Chan was completely taken aback by my sudden request to eat dark chocolates. While I made Chan believe that now I love dark chocolates and I will not fire him for stacking my fridge up with them, Jung Suk was already dreaming about munching onto his favourite delicacies. Chan left at around 2 in the morning and I finally checked my phone. While talking to Chan I had put my phone on aeroplane mode so I missed around 15 missed calls from my fake boyfriend Sung Ho. Oh damn, he must be waiting for me at his family home. I totally forgot to inform him how I failed to escape and reschedule our meet up. "Just text him that you will come and see him tomorrow afternoon.", Jung Suk said while peeking into my phone. I nodded and texted him the time. "I can't sleep in this apartment knowing there was someone's dead body in this house for a week.", I told Jung Suk while yawning. "We still need to find the mystery behind this murder.", he said. "Murder?", I asked. He nodded. "How are you so sure?", I couldn't help but feel uneasy at the word murder. Jung Suk shrugged but before he could present his theory, a third voice interrupted him. "But I am sure that I was murdered.", we both looked behind and gasped. Jung Suk stood in front of me. I saw a man standing and he looked exactly like the person in that picture who had a red circle around his face in Song's diary. It was her dad! As soon as I realised it was Kim Song's dad I fainted and fell on the ground, heartily welcoming the millionth twist in my so-called normal life.
