Meanwhile on a restricted private island…
"Anna wouldn't be coming anytime soon," Allen told the girl who was lying down on the couch, playing in ipad.
"Why?" she asked, chucking the iPad away and sitting down.
"I am wondering the same, Shasha. The postmortem reports affirmed that it's natural death." Allen frowned, slumping on his office chair as he looked at the sunrise through the glass walls.
"Didn't she promise that she will return as soon as she makes sure that her brother is safe?" Shasha asked as she walked to stand at the glass wall to look at the panoramic sunrise.
"She did. But later decided to change her decision" Allen agreed.
"God! Allen, we need to finish our project soon or else that asshole will get the upper hand!" Shasha exclaimed.
"How can an ambitious person like Anna put her work in second place? Something must be serious out there" she added.
Before Allen could talk, Shawn entered the room. He just arrived at the island after meeting Anna a couple of days back.
"I know the reason" he said while he walked to Shasha and hugged her before placing a kiss on her head.
Shasha instantly melted in his embrace.
"What is that reason?" Allen asked as he walked to the coffee machine. Like always he ignored the dog food being thrown at him. He and Anna long back got accustomed to this PDA.
"She met her ex and he happened to be her family friend," Shawn said.
Allen, who was making a coffee, froze in mid-air.
Shock and anger is evident in his eyes. The cup in his hand would have cracked if he didn't control his anger.
"She told me that she is having dinner with her family friends. Could it be him?" Allen asked with clenched teeth.
"Most probably. We all are aware of how much she loved him once" Shawn answered while he combed his hands through Shasha's hair. His eyes filled with concern.
"Do you think that she is convincing herself that her grandparents death is suspicious so that she could get to see him more?" Shasha asked her boyfriend.
Shawn nodded his head. "I am having the same thought," he agreed.
"I can't let it happen" Allen gritted his teeth.
"Dude, we all know that you love Anna but, even you are aware that her ex is still the one in her heart" Shawn said.
"It's not about me getting jealous. Well, it's one of the reasons but the main issue is, they shouldn't be together!! It will do more harm than good to both of them" Allen said,
"Yeah. But I wonder why. No one gives me the exact reason" Shasha complained.
"It will do you no good either. So, it's better left unsaid." Allen said.
"Fine!" Shasha said, rolling her eyes.
"So, what are we gonna do?" Shawn asked.
"I have an idea," Allen said, fishing out his mobile.
"No, Allen. You know how much she hates it if anyone gets involved in her personal matters." Shawn warned.
"Well, I am not anyone, Shawn!" Allen said.
'I am her soon to be husband' he thought inside before leaving the room.

The next day.
Place: Danvers corps
Kyle, Ria and Anna took the elevator to the conference room. Although this is not the first time Anna came here, it's been almost a decade since she stepped into this place. So much has changed that it felt no different than an unfamiliar place to her.
Ria decided to wait outside as she has to pretend like she is not at all bothered by this power struggle.
Anna insisted that Ria had to act as an arrogant and spoiled granddaughter of Danvers' family who is dumb and don't know anything about business management.
Till today, Ria is perfectly unaware of the reason why Anna asked her to act like this, however, she believes that Anna has a strong reason for asking so.
Meanwhile, Kyle and Anna walked inside along with grandfather Danver's loyal secretary. Kyle sat down at the right side of the head of the table while Anna and the old secretary took seats behind Kyle.
Everyone is present, waiting for Chairman Fletcher (Grandfather Fletcher/ Aiden's grandfather), the second biggest shareholder of his company.
The tension in the room is obvious and Kyle is no less nervous. Although Grandfather Fletcher agreed to support him, the decision is still on the fence.
Who knows how many people are under his uncle's spell now? That man is really a sly fox with a glib tongue and it's really difficult to gauge the situation now. He planned really well that Kyle had no time to make a move.
And, exactly before one minute of the right time, Aiden entered the conference room with his own secretary at his tow.
His presence indeed astonished and stupefied everyone. His stand in the business world is no less than his grandfather's. In fact, Aiden was said to be more scary and unpredictable than his grandfather.
But, didn't Aiden announce his retirement a couple of years back?
