I sighed as we returned to the meeting room as the others joined us but the chairs had been moved. Queen Anastasia was now between her Husband and sons.
"No." King Ridner looked at his wife who was already seated.
"I am not putting you near the boys when you're trying to hurt them. I swear I have never in my life been so disappointed in you." She spat at him.
The look on his face made a couple of people snicker. I set back down next to Logan and my Mother and looked around the room. "I would like to bring up something else that has been forgotten due to the spell that they all are wearing."
"Heartbeats." Logan said after everyone sat down and was looking at me.
"Yes." I agreed.
"We could spell items to silent heartbeats." Mother offered.
"The guards would need to hear them." Queen Noctis said.
"We don't hear heartbeats here and they all do their jobs well." I counter.
"She's right." King Horis said softly. "We truly have no need to hear them, we can guard ourselves just fine without them."
Queen Noctis looked pissed. "I think that it is foolish to put ourselves in danger to not have our guards crippled like that.
"It's that or make the heartbeats sound further away then they are." I told her. "And that is going to be disorienting after a while."
"How would you know?" She demanded.
"Because that is what we did to me when I was out of the End when I met them. If that spell had stayed on much longer I probably would have started having issues since everything else was in place but the heartbeats sounded like they were a mile off." I told her.
"I am sorry." Mother said, gripping my hand.
"It's okay it would be for the short time that I was out there but no longer than a sunrise to sunset." I smiled at her.
"I think being able to just not hear them would be for the best." King Bloodbound said. "Particularly for my group." We all looked at him in shock. "What? I know that my people have control issues around heartbeats. Why do you think we don't have horses?"
"He has a point." Prince Wilson agreed.
"I will contact Anderson and let him know he will be looking after the clan when we leave." Queen Nightworth said.
"Good idea I will contact Noel to let her know as well."
"Wilson and Hart." King Bloodbound said looking at them then to King Ridner then back to them. "You two will be looking after the Bloodbound clan as I am unbanding your father and dissolving the Conver clan back."
"NO!" Ridner yells and water wraps around him and pulls him down into the chair.
"Stay seated and do not fight me and I will think about not killing you for treason." King Bloodbound snarled. King Ridner shut up and Anastasia sighed.
"I think that might be premature." Queen Bessie said softly.
"I do not we know that he had the potential to be as bad as his father I had hoped he was not but he is Bessie my love I do not want to take this clan back but Hart is not ready nor is Wilson and no offence to Anastasia she's more of a figure head due to her Husband's actions."
"You could do what I did if you want to put Hart in charge and say Duchess Nala as his fall back like I did with Nela here." Queen Breanna said.
He hummed. "How about we give it till the tournament ends and you think on it Dad." Wilson offered.
"Very well." He sighed. "THe tournament starts in an hour. Who is joining?" I raised my hand and so did Wilson and Hart. "Go get ready, all three of you."
"He's right go, Love." Logan said softly to me.
"I hope to see you all in the stands." I said as I raised and left the room with Hart and Wilson. "Well that was interesting to say the least." I huffed as I closed the door.
"Tell me about it." Wilson sighed.
"I will lead you to the ready area." Hart said as we followed him.
"I can not wait to get into this!" I said bouncing as we walked.
"You are like a young one on there birthday." Wilson huffed.
"Oh but you see I am ready to kick some tails." I smiled at them. "Father wouldn't let me go to the last tournament worried about Uncle Varance." I sighed as we walked into the waiting area where my ladies were glaring at the male in front of them.
"Your ego will be the death of you." Albaforth spat at them.
"It's only an ego if we can't back it up." I said making them all turn and look at me.
"My Lady!" Magda smiled.
"Magda." Both Loren and I said.
"Right, sorry Diana." She said with a smile.
"Great you're here." He spat at me.
"How's your face feeling?" Kat asked him.
"You b…"
"Albaforth!" Hart snarled as he stepped around me and stormed up to his cousin. "Leave the Lady Knights alone, they have as much of a right to be here as the rest of us. They had to earn their shields just like the rest of us now back off."
He made a face as he looked at his cousin. "What would uncle say if he heard you talk like that Prince Hart?"
"Father is this close to losing the clan." He said holding up his hand fingers centimeters apart. "I do not care what my Father thinks. I know that my Father made this damn tournament because my Hotara is a male."
"Your a fagget?" Albaforth spat and Hart slapped him hard enough to make his neck snap as his head jerked and Albaforth dropped.
"Can someone go get some blood please." Hart said.
"Nicely done." I said. "Next time threaten his eyes. There the one thing that does not grow back so it's the best thing to threaten to take.
"And trust me one example of you actually taking one will get them to believe you." Opal snorted.
"Then you should not have disrespected me the way you did Opal." I snapped at her.
She held up her hands. The eyepatch on her face was decorated with the northern crest. "I was in the wrong and I accept my punishment no need to bring it back up My Lady but you have to admit after you took my eye everyone knew you were not kidding." She said.
"It did." I agreed with her.
"Good to know." He said softly.
"Here's the blood." A knight said.
"Feed it to this idiot."
"Yes My prince."
"You know I would have thought the prince would have been more like his cousin." Loran said.
"I was until my mother kicked my ass in a sparring match and I found my Mate and realised that my father was wrong." He said, turning and looking at us.
I smiled at him as he sighed as Loren hugged me from behind and rested her chin on my shoulder. "So what is the tournament now about?"
"Still looking for a mate for the Princess and Prince Riley but I think now it's more of a political thing." I told her.
"Huh okay its political for us then." She said as Albaforth gasped and sat up.
"You broke my neck!" He snaps at his cousin.
"And I will take your eye the next time you call me or anyone else a Fagget." Hart snapped at him.
"But Hart!"
"No my father and yours are sexest assholes and if you don't stop acting like an ass you will be a one-eyed asshole." He snapped at him.
"Alright so we need everyone to follow us to the area…" The man stopped as he looked up at us. "Is something wrong my prince?"
"No, let us begin." He said as we all followed him to the walk in front of the northern knights Maxwell just behind me as we exited out of the door with the northern crest on it. The crowd was cheering for all of us.
"Greetings everyone." The adnorcer said. "So the rules are simple. Now permanent kills and no taking eyes." I snort. "Elements are allowed, please be mindful of fire and the arena." He tells us. The bottom three rows of the bleachers are the knights. Please everyone take a seat once you put your name in the box with your crest on it." He tells us.
"This is one way to do it." I said softly.
"Indeed." Maxwell agreed. I smiled at him before walking to the table and writing my name and dropping it in the box. I took my seat in the front row and then Maxwell beside me and I smiled as Loren and Magda sat behind me.
"Are you Ladies ready?" Maxwell asked them.
"Always teacher." Loren agreed, smiling at him.
"Good I expect you all to do your best." I told them when we were all sitting down.
"Of my Lady." they all said with a grin.
