"Milady." King Logan calls me as he stands up. "King Varance My First Lady Diana."
"Greeting Lady Diana." King Varance spoke, his voice sounded like nails on a chalkboard.
"Greeting King Varance I hope your trip here was pleasant?" I asked to begin polite.
"It was cold but fine." He said with a smile that made me want to puck his teeth where all fangs had been filled down into points.
"May I ask why I was called?" I asked Logan.
"You know the Torant clan has always been our allies and King Varance wanted to speak about the Cornver invitation." He tells me as I move to stand next to him. "As my First Lady you are needed for any alliance meeting." He said. "Please sit." I sit next to him and bite back a sigh. While I listened and put input in where I could.
"DIANA!" came the screaming voice of my father.
I get up and move to the door. "I didn't do it Father!" I yelled back.
Logan snorted as. "Nicodemus is far too overprotective of her."
"He always has been." I rolled my eyes as Father stepped out of the shadows and glared at King Varance.
"Hello Brother." Father hissed.
"Aw brother you did not tell me you had a daughter." King Varance teased.
"Well if you remember correctly Var Father banished me from our clan when I spoke against him." Father snaps at him.
"And King Matthen took you in I bet." Varance hissed a laugh. "Oh, dear older brother you do know." He started. "She is our princess Father revoked your banishment on his deathbed Regulus."
"I could care less Varance my place is here as is hers." Father snaps. I back up out of the way standing next to Logan.
"Are you sure on that brother?" He asked as he stood up. "I know when Father kicked you out you had to leave your Hotara behind. Are you sure you don't want him back?"
"Regulus is alive?" Father asked, sounding shocked.
"Well of course he's alive Father kept his word and didn't kill the little bastard." Varance rolled his eyes as his eyes land one me. "Though will your partner be to be pleased to find out about your Hotara?"
I think all of us blink. "What partner?" I asked. "Do I have a stepparent I don't know about?" I asked looking at Father before I could stop myself.
"You know very well you do not Diana how else would you hold the title of Lady Arcaria if I had a partner?" Father asked, glaring at King Varance. "I adopted Diana when I turned her." That made him stop and look at me.
"You were turned?" He asked, blinking. "And your sane?"
"Yes, and as sane as I can be." I said he looked me over.
"That's." He sputtered.
"She was dying there was no other way to save her." Father said, shrugging his shoulders.
"You know how turned vampires tend to go crazy with the power that runs in our venom!" He shrieks. I rub my ears as they start ringing.
"I am aware Varance." Father snapped and I shift the dragon on my back and started burning. I bit my lip as only half listened to the argument as I true to keep it under control.
"Diana?" Logan asked. "Diana." I feel someone shake me. The roar that is deafening but I know it was only me who can hear it.
"Diana?" Father asked. "Dragon?" He asked me.
"Dragon what dragon?" They asked. Gripping my arm, I hiss as I drop to my knees as the claw takes over my hand.
"Shit we haven't seen this in a while." Father said.
"50 years." I hissed. "It's a pattern every 50 years." I growled out. "Though its about 2 weeks early." I said pushing myself up. The four claws and golden scales shined. "I still wish I know how this happened." I sighed.
"You and me both." Father said reaching out to take my clawed hand I jerked my hand to my chest covering it with my other hand. He rolled his eyes.
"Have you ever done a full change?"
"No." I sighed. "It's only this one hand." I sighed.
"What about?" He hung off.
"It happened earlier today twice." I sighed.
"Why?" He asked me.
"I don't know!" I said throwing my hands up in the air. "I don't know you know I have no memories from before you found me. I have no idea what this means I don't know!" I moved back from them to give myself some space. I rubbed my nose with my hand.
"Nothing?" Varance asked. "That's odd I was told stories of Vampires being turned and they always remembered before."
"She could not remember even as I tried to nurse her back to health." Father said as I moved over to a window. "Sweety suns coming up."
"I know." I said using one of my claws to crack the curtain simply watching for a few seconds where the sun starts to rise the red leaves of the trees shimmering stark against the ash grey trunks. Leaving my arm in the area of the open curtain. "But sunlight is the only thing that makes this go away."
"I know just be careful." I just hummed as the sunlight hit my arm after a few minutes and the claws morphed back into my hand though the scales were still there. I flicked the curtain close. "Why is it still gold."
"Not long enough in the sun but I figured I would deal with it when I get back to my room." I tell him. Closing my hand into a fist.
"Has the sun ever affected you?" Logan asked.
"The only thing it does is give me a headache because it's too bright." I tell him.
"It doesn't affect your strength or burn you?" Father asked.
"No. Other than if I'm in it too long it makes my skin red until moonrise." I shrugged.
"How long were you out?" Dad asked.
"Six hours." I wince at the look that they are giving me.
"Oh, sweet Mother Moon." Logan said, rubbing his forehead. "How have you kept this a secret?" I wince and chuckle softly.
"Oh, it's been tricky epically when my heart starts beating at random." Tell him and then hiss as my heart decides to beat. "Fucking hurt." I hiss.
"How often does that happen?" Varance asked.
"Once a month but for some reason it keeps happening today." I sighed rubbing my chest twitching a little as I sidestep King Varance as he tried to pounce on me.
"Varance!" Father snapped. "You can not experiment on her." He snaps as he pushed me toward the door. "Go to your room." I rub my nose but I stayed put.
"ENOUGH!" I roar, all three of them grip their heads. "Father I am not a child I am not only the Lady of Arcaria and now the First Lady, you may be my sire and I will respect and love you, but within the clan I technology out rank you. I am not a naught child who needs to go to bed." I turned to King Varance and started to tap my foot as I put my hands on my hip. "And you, you know that if you tried any experimenting on me you could start a war with the Northern Clan King Varance." He blushed looking away. "King Logan I due apologize about a yelling."
"I understand." He said, rubbing his ears as he shakes his head.
"Now Father what did you need originally?" I asked him.
"I wanted to know if you would not mind scouting out the End." Father said. "We have gotten reports where there's been some strange things going on and since the Cornver thing is not for another two weeks."
I winced. I love visiting the end but that is a full day trip going nonstop. "Let me make sure I have all my paperwork done and then I do not mind."
"Did you finish everything Sarah gave you?" King Logan asked.
"Yes." I tell him.
"Then your good I will handle anything else the End is not a save place for vampires that can't handle daylight." King Logan said.
I nod thinking about what I will need to pack. "Ok so I will go pack and head out. King Varance I ask you not drive my father up a wall."
"No promises!" King Varance chuckles. "Oh and its Uncle to you!" I sigh as I turn and walk out the door. Heading toward the cellar.
"Lady Arcaria." Jade spoke up. As I open the cellar door.
"Jade." I nod to her. "I need three bottles of blood I am going to be on a mission."
"Oh yes Lady Arcaria." She says ducking into the deep part of the cellar. I leaned back against the wall next to the door. I rubbed my nose knowing that Jade would come back soon. I hum a tune that seemed to flow from the cobwebs of the darkest part of my mind.
"I haven't heard that song in forever." Jade said.
"Really?" I asked.
