I walked to my room thinking of my mom's word, as she said if I forget about all the other things, will Megan be fine all life with my temperament... I loved her a lot, but the problem is can I change for her, or can she change her lifestyle for me... I just sat thinking about it while Becka walked into my room with a glass of juice, and placed it on the side table, and said,
"Danny, I don't know what you think of me, but I have always loved you...with all my heart, I can give up on anything to be with you... I love you, Danny"
after a confession, she slowly walked out of my room with tears brimming in her eyes, I didn't say anything, it was dinner time but I didn't feel like eating, I wanted to confront my Little goblin, I got up and walked out in my black t-shirt, blue sweat pants, my Mom called me.
"Danny, where are you going, food is already served, come and eat"
"No Mom, I have to meet Jack for something, will have after I come back, you all have dinner, leave the keys in regular place"
"What happened Danny you look so disturbed," my Dad asked.
" Nothing Dad, I am a little tired, I will go see Jack" as I said, I left.
I went to Brians store to see Jack, Jack had finished with all the work and was closing the store, as he saw me...
"Hai Danny, I thought you're busy this week, had dinner....if not let's go out now for dinner"
I nodded my head and helped him in the closing of the store counters after we checked everything, I walked with Jack to the top floor restaurant, which is very famous in this Mall...
We ordered a lot of food, Chicken fried rice, prawns dry fry, stir veggies, one soup, and a dessert, with two pints of beer...we both spoke about Jack's engagement arrangements, and I ate quietly, Jack is one person who can read my mind...
"What's it Danny that's troubling you, tell me, let's see what to do about it"
I looked up at him... said what my Mom, Jovel said, and he gave a furious stare...
"Are you really that insane Danny, listening to those people words and doubting Megan, you know how much she has compromised for you, She has never complained about anything that you want her to do... Her love for you is unconditional...but I doubt about you now"
He was so annoyed...it was the first time Jack was so mad at me, but I didn't know why.
"No Jack I don't doubt her, but iam a little confused..."
"That's exactly what I'm saying Danny, there all are only trying to confuse you and separate Megan from you because they can't fight you..."
He continued...
"Have ever Megan asked you to change for her... but you wanted her to change her way of behaviour, her way of talking, even her being with her friends as being a problem to you, but as she ever complained, but she gave in for all your wishes..."
I was stunned at Jack's words, only then I understood how much I have taken her space, that's true...I keep instructing her all the time like a school teacher, but she has never complained.
But I doubted her... by only a few words from my family members, who don't want me to be with her... I was so very ashamed of myself.
"Your correct Jack, I have been an ass... I never understand people's mind games, I should be more careful with their words, from now"
"You better be, or you will finally end up marrying that Becka...and lose Megan for a lifetime"
as we finished our food, Jack said he was going to Megan's house with Ellie to invite her and her family for his engagement.
I nodded my head, it was my birthday, because of some problem with the place, the day was changed, so I wanted to be with her at "12 o clock", Jack was so surprised by my words...
"Jack, can you ask Ellie to take permission from Megan's parents to stay at night with her, the day before your engagement...I want to be with her"
"Ok, We will try"
He sneered at me, and we left for our house, as Jack again reminded me to be careful with the people at my house.
I reached home by 11 pm, took the keys from the regular place, and opened the door to see Becka sitting on the couch, I ignored her and walked to my room, as opened the door, I didn't see Jovel on his bed, and Becka came with a plate of food,
"Danny, I have warmed the dinner, wash up and eat"
"No need, I had my dinner with Jack, you can leave Becka"
as I said, I turned to the washroom, but Becka asked me,
"Danny, at least drink this milk, it's warm, you will get a better sleep"
I took the mug from her and placed it on the side table and asked her to leave, while she was leaving, I saw her grinning, I was little, taken back, why was she so happy for no reason, I went to the washroom, took a shower and came out, after changing, I took the mug and place it near my lips, took a sip, but the milk tasted little different, immediately I remembered what Jack said, I didn't drink the milk, but emptied the mug into a disposal cup, and placed it safe to check it in the lab...
I called Megan, she picked the call, and asked,
"Hello Danny, what's it..."
she was sleeping I think, her voice sounded drowsy...
"Hai Meg, sorry to disturb you, sleep I will call you tomorrow"
"mmmm, ok...Goodnight"
Megan didn't even hang her call, I could hear her steady breathing, it was fascinating to me, I loved hearing her breathing sound... as I was sitting, suddenly someone opened my room door, with a spare key...I thought it must be Jovel, so I cut the call...
"Goodnight My minion love you..., I love you too Danny...."
as I said, I heard Megan saying it in her sleep, I shook my head, it's true her love for me is unconditional, even in her sleep, she is in my thoughts...
The door was opened and to my surprise, it was not Jovel, but it was Becka... I asked her,
"What's it Becka, and where did you find a spare key for my room and why"
"It's that, I...I....I...wanted to take the empty mug, so I took the key from the aunt's cupboard...Are you ok Danny, do you feel uncomfortable anywhere"
I was so shocked by her questions, what was she expecting.... my doubt about the milk taste, her smile while leaving my room, and finally she opened my door with a spare key...
After Becka left, I called Jack, Jack picked the call lazily asked,
"Tell Danny, what's it..."
I said what happened, he was quiet for some time and said,
"Danny get that milk sample, let's check, I think, they wanted to drug you, Danny"
"Drug me...in my own house, for whattt"
"Don't talk like an idiot Danny, you even have a girlfriend... don't you know why they will drug you..."
"If you are drugged and sleep with Becka, Megan will leave you and take responsibility for Becka's virtue, you will be forced to Marry her... Game over, what a plot Danny"
I was stunned by Jack's analysis... what's going on in my life, my own family is plotting against me... what should I do now, I was even scared to eat in my house, as I was thinking... Jack called me again,
"Danny, hai...hai...are you there????"
"Jack, stop screaming...I am there, tell"
"Ok, get the milk sample tomorrow to store, we both will go to the lab, till you get the result, act normally, ok"
I put down my phone and was in my thoughts, what should I do now... how can be in this house where my own parents and siblings are plotting against me, I didn't know when I slept...
The morning sunlight coming from my window woke me up, I got ready and took the milk sample carefully, and walked out, my Mom came from the kitchen, while Dad, Jovel, sat with Jessica, I walked past them, I was sick for face them, My mom asked,
"Danny, where to...come have breakfast"
I smiled at my mom and walked out without answering her, these people were so desperate to drug me...and force me to marry Becka...
I and Jack reached the lab, gave the sample, and waited for the result, I prayed to all Gods that the result should be negative... all this was only my illusion, but the truth is sometimes scary than fiction... the result was positive, that also it was very highly drugged...
I lost complete hope in my family now, Jack tapped my shoulder and consoled me, I just wanted to scream out my frustration, as I was burning myself in my own agony, my phone rang, and the name,
"My Little Goblin"
that cooled my anger like a full ice Mountain fell on the small log of flame, I picked the call...
