I walked them both to the second floor, I asked the salesgirl to show them the Birthday gifts, as they both were checking.
I came down to see Jack coming in waving at me with a big smile,
"Buddy what's the program today"
I just glared at him, he comes to assist me here on weekends, to learn how to maintain ledgers, look the audacity of him, I just asked him,
"What's the time, your already an hour late for your shift, I will inform Mr Brain about it, and you will be not paid today" Jack looked at me sadly, "Buddy I am your best friend, this how you treat me"... He pretended to cry.
I gave him a stern look and said,
"I have some important work on the second floor, it will take some time for me to come down, take care of the cash counter" after that I walked to my little goblin, she needs a lesson today.....
when I walked to the second floor, I was stunned by what I saw, these two girls had taken maximum all the gifts from the rack and placed them on the table, the salesgirl was in the urge to cry. I asked, "What's happening here",
the salesgirl looked at me as if, she saw her Saviour and complained that,
"These two girls are bullying me, Sir, by asking to open all the gift articles for comparing, which was best". I was not able to hold my laugh anymore, this cute little goblin...but didn't show any kind of emotions on my face, I looked at the salesgirl and said, " You go down", and turned to these two notorious girls in front of me, who stood with their heads down, I said, "You both will clean this mess before you both leave this place". Megan looked up at my face and said,
" This how you treat your customers, call the owner of this store, I need to talk to him". I looked at Megan and Olivia and said, "if you both won't clear the mess you have done, I am calling your parents now", Megan, give me Mr Felix number now, Olivia I have Mrs Rose number. They both looked at me like pleading and started to put all the gifts back into their boxes, I settled on the couch in the side and watched them both clearing the things when they both were all almost done, I stood up from the couch and walked to Megan, and dragged her to the corner of the second floor, it was a quiet place near the window, I pinned her to the wall with both my hand putting either side of her, not letting her escape, "Hai, Little goblin, angry", she looked furiously at me, and turned her face, I turned her face and lifted her chin to face me, and said, "Megan, haven't I told you before not to play in my workplace, You both are troubling that girl for no reason". She just tried to push me but failed, I held her in my arms, and said, " Hai, little goblin, don't be angry, today's ice cream is on me".
"I not here to get ice cream from you, I really wanted to buy gifts for Chole and Bella, I just teased you for fun, I didn't want to disturb you at your workplace. I am sorry, this will never happen again", she told in a frustrated tone.
Oh, she's upset now, I just caressed her hair, and hugged her. "I sorry for upsetting you" but she just struggled out of my arms, and took the gift they have selected and walked down. I walked slowly behind her before I reach the Cash counter, She billed her gifts and walked out with Olivia. I didn't know what to do... I just wanted to tease her but she became upset again.
Megan Pov
We were only having fun with the salesgirl, asking her to open all the boxes, I and Olivia planned to help her, inputting back the gifts, after taking what we wanted, but Daniel mistook me, again, after the salesgirl complained that, we were bullying her, He asked us to clean this place, or call our parents, I have been never had a complaint in my whole life, asking my Dad to come here, because I did a mistake, this was a fatal blow to me, we quietly cleaned up the place, as we were about to finish, Daniel dragged me to a corner, and held me between his arm, and said, I am always messing in his workplace, for no reason, I am troubling his colleagues.
I felt very bad about myself, to be portrayed like this in his mind, I promised him that I will never disturb him again in his workplace, Daniel said he was sorry for upsetting me, but that was not right, I was the one who created the trouble, I was too be blamed, I was not angry on him, but myself to act so unreasonable. Whenever Daniel touched or hugged me I use to feel like electric current passing in each cell of my body, but today I felt numb, I only felt the pain and shame that I faced today when Daniel said he's going to call my Dad.
I and Olivia didn't go for ice cream, as we planned, I just wanted to go home, it was the first time I have come alone without my parents, and I messed it. I reached home and packed Chole's gift and wrote her address and gave it to Dad, to send it, put Bella's gift in my cupboard, Olivia called me in the evening to check on me if I was alright, I just answered her casually telling her I was fine, actually, I was fine, but maybe it was the first time I was humiliated by someone, so it hurt me very badly, I understood, I could never be myself, or let my guard down in front of Daniel in my life.
I took shower and went to bed, I got a message from Daniel.
Dark Shadow: Megan, still angry
Me: No, I am fine
Dark Shadow: Megan, I didn't mean to hurt you, I am sorry
Me: No Daniel, please don't say that, it was my mistake. Daniel, I am sleepy,
bye.
Dark Shadow: Good night Megan.
I just put my phone on the nightstand and slept, the next day I got up to see, our house turned up said-down, I came to the living room, Dad was sitting on the couch, I went and nested in his arms. Karen came out with my sister, they both had new curtains for changing, Mom was busy dusting, I looked at Dad and asked, "What's happening here Dad", Dad shook his head and said, " We are having few guests dear and even your idiot uncle is coming with your aunt".
After all the cleaning was done, the three ladies walked to the living room, sat there for rest, my Mom started again,
" Adam, get ready, we will go shopping, need to get few things, and have to buy Megan's birthday dress". I didn't want to go, but these people dragged me again to Brain's store, I just walked in without even glancing at the cash counter, I held my Dad's hand and walked up to the third floor which was the women's section. Mr Brain came to greet my Dad and spoke about some official affairs, Dad, said it was going to be my birthday, and we were here to buy my birthday dress, Mr Brain, smiled at me, called Daniel. I had a bad feeling, I didn't want him to misunderstand me again, I quickly picked my phone from my pocket and sent a message to Dark Shadow
Me: I really don't know why Mr Brain called you, please don't mistake me.
after sending the message stood there very nervously.
Daniel walked to us while looking at his phone, Daniel lifted his head and looked at me with a helpless look.....
