Chereads / Mafia's Vampire Girl / Chapter 3 - DANGER

Chapter 3 - DANGER

I softly munched on it sucking the animal blood non stop. The kind of satisfaction it gave me was too low but thats the least concern because my throat is finally getting wet. The stinging smell of the metallic blood made me gag a little and I missed human blood even more. The blood that once used to attract me like a magnet is now too far from me. I tried finding it for more than a year but I always ended up getting into trouble.

My peaceful feast was interrupted when some shouts and cries bolted in. I threw the lifeless goat to the corner and covered it with a plastic bag that laid somewhere near to it. Wipping of the blood stains from my hands and lips, I massaged my hair to get rid of the messiness. The smell of blood would be trackable easily and I cant avoid it so I ran to the other corner and peeked over to see the chaos.

Few meters away, I saw the unbelievable with my own eyes. The sudden wind which blew fired the scent of human blood into my nostrils. I covered my nose and mouth in an instant to control my thirst. The walk way was filled with blood coming from the lifeless figure.

"Clear his body." A bold voice commanded kicking on the figure to make sure of it still have life.

Two men came out from a black car which was parked next to the street lamp. They pulled up the figure fiercely and threw it into the back of the car with a loud thud. No body even flinched at the sudden sound but I definitely did.

"So? Thats it? No other information?" The man who commanded earlier growled out.

The other men stood silent with head hung low and I couldnt see their faces as all of them were wearing black cassock which touched till the heels. The cap and mask they wore didnt even leave a small space for me to see them. They were literally like a rock not moving an inch as if being trained that way.

The main man began to pace back and forth holding a gun flipping it over and over alternatively over his hands. I could see the tension in him as his body was tensing up. His heart started beating faster and sweat beads had formed in his forehead and nape which I could easily see. Pecks of being a vampire.

"Speak up dumbfucks. What am I going to tell him? That you got a man who is worth zero use?" The man whisper shouted while gritting his teeth.

The men still stood silent as if no answer was required from them. The main man kicked the stone in frustration and hit the black car making a loud bang startling the others. A royal blue car pulled over and he got into it while the remaining men got into the black car and drove away. I couldnt process the whole thing but the blood was still filled in the pavement but I couldnt drink it like a wild animal.

I turned away and walked off into another alley without stopping. My brain ran back to the scent of blood I got from the butcher shop boy was similar to what I had experienced. I miss him even now and I am sure, he might have married someone. The man who gave colours to my bloody red world.

I was day dreaming and soon bumped into another human body for absolutely no reason at all.

"Aghh." I winced at the sudden pain that made me jolt as reflex.

The man went unbothered when I steadied my position and I stood dumbfounded once again. Who was that? Why did that hurt me? Vampires dont get hurt by humans for sure and humans can never be that strong. I hurriedly eyed everywhere and ran back a little to find that guy but I failed. Having no clue as to where I can go for a shelter, I sat down in front of a bakery fidgeting with my fingers.

"Young lady, what is it that you want to eat?" I lifted my head hearing a shrilled voice.

I looked up to see a woman who was about the age of sixty looking at me with a questioning eyes. I missed my grandmother all of a sudden as she was the only one who was concerned about my well being. My mom and dad were busy ruling over the petty vampires along with my brother, Daniel. Being left alone, I used to visit my grandmother and she made me feel home.

"Sweet heart?" The old woman shaked me once again bringing me back to consciousness.

"Umm, I- I am afraid that I dont." I hesitated but somehow answered back.

"You look so worn out. Did something happen? Did you see something that you werent supposed to see?" What she asked took me by surprise.

"What do you mean?" I asked standing up scared of being caught for witnessing the earlier incident.

"You look scared and you are panting heavily as if you ran a lot. Your hair and dress is wet with salty water." She said carefully examining me and I didnt like it even one bit.

"I am totally fine madam. I was just waiting for some one." I lied with a poker face.

"Oh dear, you dont have to lie. Come inside and freshen up and I will get you some kimchi soup." She gave me a warm smile but it creeped me out.

"I will get going." I shrugged her hands and got up.

"Danger awaits you." She said in a intimidating low tone making my heart stop.

"Wh-what?" I mouthed looking into her eyes.

"Come inside. I know who you are." She said pulling me into her bakery.

I followed her in tiny pace with a heavy heart which was totally confused. The place looked cozy and warm with dim moonlights and lanterns. An antique vibe which made my memories rush back to my home. My eyes involuntarily rummaged through the small room while one thing caught my attention.

A photograph. Or maybe we could say a preserved oil painting which looks hundreds of years old. The princely man in the painting automatically brought tears into my eyes. The past which always haunted me. I slowly walked towards the wall painting as if being possessed.

"Tan?" I felt a rush of mixed emotions waving inside me and at the same time a sudden urge to run away into void.
