With this, we have reached the end of the second book of the series, clocking in at around 140k words compared to the first one's 100k. Thank you for reading all the way here!
This book ended up being a lot longer than I thought it would be, but I really wanted to get out of the Tutorial by book 2 so we could move on to a grander stage. The conflict with the Drakkhan Empire has now truly started, though it was set up all the way in the beginning of book 1. Varlian and Arimiar were also introduced as characters back then. I don't expect book 3 to be longer than this one (however, my expectations have been wrong before, such as in this book's case). This book was all about moving the plot forward and having everything planned happen as the Tutorial rushed to its end. As such, it might have felt a lot more fast-paced or that the characters were running about endlessly, though I tried to have some moments of downtime for character development. I apologize if this was somehow detrimental to your experience as a reader. Book 3 will be coming along soon, so stay tuned in!
From what I've already written in book 3, numbers are going to seem very stupid. They probably are, but I assure you they're mathematically accurate to the best of my ability. You might find out that actually doing the math sometimes makes for some higher numbers than one might expect.
I hope you all continue to read and enjoy my books as much as possible. As I've said before, feedback is very important as a new author, so feel free to hit me with the harshest of criticism. I'm very open, as long as it's constructive and not just bashing me for being a terrible writer.
I'll leave book 2 up until January 10th, which is when I'll be taking the chapters down in preparation for Kindle Unlimited.
Best regards,
