Chapter 1 - Will the promise be kept?

Chapter one : part one - my mom's weird habit

Just as I was about to see the powerful, pretty bird`s face... *smack*my mum's good morning hit aimed right on my back. "Aaaa!" I moaned in pain.

"This is the 10th time I'm here. Well, maybe not 10. Was it 3? 2? Um, anyways when are you planning on waking up? When the sun sets?"

"Yes, if I could," I said while my eyes were shut closed, still trying to see the bird's face.

Ooh... I should have never said that. *smack*

This time, her hand hurt so badly, I immediately woke up, screaming, and leaping to the bathroom door just like a kangaroo.

As I pulled the chair to the dining table, I said to remind my mom,

"Mom, don't forget. Today is the day I receive the award."

"Aah, you're right. What is the award for again?" she asked

"mum." I said while sighing "I'm really afraid you might have dementia." I said while laughing, but... "Ahh" I should have never said that too. Because I got a kick right across the table. And oooh how bad it hurt.

"Wow... You not only know how to hit but also how to kick" I said jokingly.

" anyways, it's basically for like this writing competition; I joined because I was bored, but I ended up winning. Hah, anyways it's really important because they're going to call up my mom or dad, and you know you that means you have to come!" I ordered

"Will you please stop nagging me? I promise ill come" she guaranteed

I was fine after I heard her say she would. But immediately she uttered the word "promise," I knew I had to tell my teachers none of my parents would come. firstly, because my dad ran away the day I was born, and secondly because my mum has a habit of never keeping her promise.

The word promise to her is just like saying "I won't be able to..." "I can't" and "I won't." but I always wish, that one day, miraculously, she actually keeps her promise.

will this promise be kept?
