Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Gathering in the ship's central control area, we took stock of the situation. Kaitlyn and Oliver reported minimal damage, thanks to the upgraded suit and the timely application of spirit liquid.

"Mark, let's talk about what happened out there. Your experience with the berserker class is crucial for us to understand and navigate these challenges," I said, gesturing for him to join me.

He hesitated for a moment, then began recounting his feelings during the encounter with the space pirates. As he spoke, it became evident that the berserker class had a profound impact on his instincts and combat readiness. The revelation raised more questions about the nature of the classes and their effects on our abilities.

"I felt this urge, like an adrenaline rush, but more intense. It was like my body knew what to do, even if my mind didn't. I didn't harm anyone, but the desire to fight, to be in the midst of chaos, was overwhelming," Mark explained.

Kaitlyn, who had been quietly listening, chimed in, "It seems the classes aren't just skills; they influence our instincts and behavior. This could be both an advantage and a potential risk."

I nodded in agreement, acknowledging the complexity of our newfound abilities. "We need to learn more about these classes and how they interact with our individual experiences and personalities. But for now, let's focus on our immediate situation."

Looking at the navigation panel, I noted our location. "We've moved away from the pirate threat, but we can't stay in warp indefinitely. We need to find a safe location to assess the ship, repair any damage, and gather more information."

Kaitlyn, ever the scientist, suggested, "Perhaps there's a nearby space station or outpost where we can dock and gather supplies. We might also find information about the classes and the current state of the galaxy."

"Good idea. System, scan for nearby space stations or outposts with docking capabilities," I instructed.

As the system initiated the scan, Oliver added, "While we're at it, we should also explore the ship's database. There might be information about our classes, the mission we were on, or any connections to the space pirates."

With a plan forming, we set to work—Mark reflecting on his experience, Kaitlyn and Oliver attending to the ship's systems, and me delving into the ship's database for clues about our past and the nature of the classes we had inherited. The unknowns of our journey loomed large, but with each piece of information, we aimed to carve a path through the mysteries of space and our own abilities.

The database yielded fragments of information about our mission—a classified operation aimed at exploring the uncharted regions of the galaxy. The details were scarce, and it seemed our memories had been deliberately erased or suppressed.

As I delved deeper, I stumbled upon encrypted files related to the classes we possessed. The origins and purpose of these classes remained elusive, but it became apparent that they were engineered enhancements designed to adapt individuals for specific challenges in the far reaches of space.

"Mark, Kaitlyn, Oliver, gather around. I've found some information about our classes," I called, and they joined me at the control panel.

"The classes are not just skills; they're advanced genetic enhancements, designed for survival and adaptability. Berserker seems tailored for combat situations, Mechanic for handling machines, and Scientist for scientific endeavors, while survivor for leadership role" I explained.

Kaitlyn interjected, "This could explain the instinctual responses we've been having. These enhancements may not just be skills we learn of who we are now."

"Oliver, intrigued, added, "So, we're not just survivors of an attack; we're part of a larger initiative. But who erased our memories, and why?"
