It took about an hour to find the guild. But when Cro finally found it he immediately went inside and registered so he could start doing quests. After he finished registration he went straight over to the quest board to see what quests await him. He found the board had mostly hunting and containment quests. He took a hunting quest where he needed to hunt at least ten giant lizards called mutant Crocs. He asked the receptionist where they could be found and they told him they were in a swamp about a half a mile south east of the city. Which just happened to be named Faction City. But before he set out on his journey to the swamp which was oddly called Shrek's swamp he went to see the blacksmith which was about a ten minute walk from the guild hall. After finding the Smith shop he met the owner who was named Rhygore. As he approached the Smith he asked him to make him two katanas made from black steel or shadow iron and mythril. The Smith said he could do it but needed about 20 gold coins to make them. Unfortunately for Cro, he only had ten gold and eight silver (the currency was that of the normal fantasy world being gold, silver, and copper, with the addition of platinum, shadow, and some shiny red coins called a crimson). So to fill you in on the conversion rates ten copper is a silver, ten silver is a gold, one hundred gold is a platinum, twenty platinum is a shadow, and fifty shadows is a crimson. Now Cro needed nine gold and two silvers to make the payment and the reward for the quest was fifty gold coins plus two for each additional mutant Crocs he killed (the normal price for croc scales and bones was two gold per ten scales and five silver per two bones. there were only thirty Crocs in total). So in total for just killing ten would be well over the twenty gold he needed for the katanas. which he needed to be able to complete more quests as he only has two medium sized knives. Although they would do for the first quest he needed better weapons and armor if he wanted to be safe on his future missions. So he set off the next day for the quest not knowing the difficulty of what's to come.
