Chapter 13 - The beginning of a prophecy

"Who's the Dragon King?" Runaan's question resounded inside Gomo's head. All the others had seen when Gomo handed Runaan the locket was there was an extremely oppressive force that was suffocating to be near, and Runaan's eyes had changed again and he looked as though he was in a trance.

No one in the room except for Runaan heard the words of Tyros the Dragon King. Runaan was the only one who the residual soul that was left in the Dragonite stone could reach. The stone had reacted to Runaan's bloodline and the minor fluctuations his soul released in his surroundings.

Every being in the universe released fluctuations from their souls, many of the higher beings in the universe released oppressive fluctuations from their souls and the mana they can inherently control at their stages.

"Who did you just ask about Runaan?" Still somewhat dumbfounded, Gomo was in his trail of thought of what could release such a terrifying aura when Runaan asked who the dragon king was.

"The dragon king, didn't you just hear him now too? He said he was the Dragon King Tyros, Lord of Fire." Runaan stated with a puzzled complexion, he had never heard of a Dragon king before. He had never even heard of the Dragon's kin clan, that he's apparently from.

"What do you mean did we just hear him, there was only a force that came from that locket that almost suffocated us, Carri is even on the floor crying now, are you telling me you were unaffected by all of that?" Gomo began to inquisition Runaan on what had just happened. There was a force that could render a person like himself useless, but this child in front of him was just fine, utterly ridiculous.

Even Alexandros didn't have the power to render Gomo useless to the point of suffocation. Alexandros being of the Noble realm, and having gone through a tribulation himself, couldn't extend a pressure that would harm Gomo.

'Dragon King Tyros?!?! How could that be possible? Dragons disappeared from this world eons ago, or so the stories in the old manuscripts in the archives of the cathedral have said. Even so, there wasn't any mention of a dragon king named Tyros, Lord of Fire!' Gomo thought inwardly.

In the past five years since Runaan's arrival, he's been pouring himself into the study of everything he could find regarding the dragons, their kin, their bloodlines, everything. It all started when Runaan came to the orphanage that he thought this world was going to be changed forever.

Alexandros was one of just a few people in the world known to the public to hold power that could change the landscape create grand fissures in the ground and even move mountains. The current prosperity of the Crownsmen Empire was due to his overwhelming power and efficient use of his bloodline.

Alexandros' forefathers had used the bloodline imparted to them by Atlas to alter the borders of their country to surround it with mountains and canyons to restrict movement between them. The ability to manipulate the earth was near impossible to compare to, the giants were said to be created by the god Duranas himself.

The god Duranas, the god of earthly realms and the progenitor of all earthly mana was said to be what created the worlds in the universe. This of course meant Alterra was included in that too, Duranas was worshipped by the giants, not that Duranas cared for the whims of mortal beings.

The gods were immortal, they were not of this world, they didn't have physical bodies, nor were they of spiritual existence. They were heavenly existences that could manipulate the universe at will, and only the gods of higher statuses could impart the natural laws of the world.

The lower gods such as Duranas and his siblings were able to manipulate the natural laws to their benefit and in their creations, but they couldn't impart them, those divine powers were reserved to Septimus and Seraphemus their parents, the creators of this universe, and many others.

The imparting of natural laws was what caused the creation of a universe. The laws may be different in each of those universes, but they were what bound them into place and into being. Although, humans were ignorant of the other universes.

Only very few species in the universes had discovered the knowledge of the other universes that were created by Seraphemus and Septimus. Of those few were the dragons, only because of their interactions with the godly siblings.

When the goddess Tiflos banished the dragons from this universe, she had thrown them into another universe, one of chaos that was used to punish those who had angered the gods. This rarely happened, but when Tyros had betrayed her by imparting the genesis flame to his kin, she lashed out against him and his brethren.

Tyros' kin, rather specifically his half-human children, were prevented from being banished to other universes let alone the universe of chaos. Humans in this universe were special, they held divine protection of sorts from Seraphemus.

Though the protection didn't do much, it prevented humans from crossing into other universes by their own power and by the power of others. This included the lesser gods' powers too.

In each of the universes created by Seraphemus and Septimus, there were only one species in the universes that were prevented from being transported into other universes. This was a natural law that the two had created in all of their universes.

This was so they could maintain their forms of rebirth and transformation of beings from one to another universe. There was always one species they created that was unique to that universe, while other species could be found in many other ones.

These natural laws were to stop the willful travel between them from occurring. It wasn't to prevent exploration from those inhabitants, it was to prevent the species from transferring over and sowing destruction from one to another universe.

When the dragons were banished to the universe of chaos, they still had a slight connection to their original universe. This slight connection was from many things that added together, the main aspect being the bloodline connection.

Should the dragons ever regain the power to return to their universe, they would become kindred beasts of those who held their bloodlines. Runaan has begun his awakening into the strongest bloodline connection between him and Tyros.

The partial awakening of Runaan's bloodline coupled with the dragon stone being near him allowed for a medium of sorts to connect Tyros to Runaan and allowed for them to communicate.

Tyros at that moment bound himself to be with Runaan as his kindred beast for eternity should the universe allow his return. Dragons' lifespans weren't eternal in the sense the gods were eternal, but they had the capability of living for millions of years.

Tyros himself was a few hundred thousand years old, and he'd gain immense power in his old age. It was only out of impartial curiosity and boredom that he contracted with Tiflos to gain the power of one of her genesis flames.

Connecting back with Runaan in the everso slight awakening he had, allowed Tyros to think of a new way to re-enter his old universe. Unfortunately, Runaan's body couldn't handle the power of the dragon's bloodline he imparted onto his half-human children 3,000 years ago.

He needed to wait until Runaan could grow stronger and be able to wield his powers to their fullest. The key to his return was through the power that he had imparted to his bloodline. His return was going to be inevitable, and his child was going to reign over everything.

*inside the universe of chaos*

"Runaan huh" Tyros began to wonder out loud, "he will be king, he will be our way out of this accursed prison. Brothers! I see a light that will release us from this place! At long last, we will be free!!!" Tyros roared out into the cosmos of the universe he was banished to.

The dragons would return to their world, and they would once again become sovereigns, their hopes have been answered. The beginning of the prophecy they put into place so many years ago had finally started.

*back at the orphanage*

The name Tyros had never been mentioned in any of the manuscripts Gomo had been studying to gain information on Runaan's heritage.

Now suddenly there was an indescribable oppressive force that felt as though it could kill him with a simple batting of his eyelashes. Unbelievable!

Gomo began to wonder, 'who exactly were the dragons, and if even the fragments of their power could cause such a disturbance, what could have possibly happened to them?' Gomo fell back onto his butt, trying to regain his composure.

"I swear it Father Gomo, he said his name was the Lord of Fire, Tyros, the last dragon king. He said I would be king just like he was 3000 years ago!" Runaan interjected, disrupting Gomo's train of thought.

"3000 years ago? Dragon King? Dragons in general! I don't know enough to give you an answer to anything right now Runaan. What I do know is that you are extremely special, and we will have to be careful from now on." Gomo said matter of factly, still trying to digest what he had just heard.

The power of a dragon, and supposedly a dragon that was strong enough to be considered the king of all of them, Gomo was utterly baffled, and he knew that if Runaan was to ever be discovered by enemy territories, his life would be in danger.
