In the middle of the night.
Normally only bats would be awake to roam the night but a few other people were left awake from their troubled minds.
"Master!" A disturbed voice rang out through an empty hall.
The Old man who seemed to have been meditating opened his eyes and looked at the young man standing before him. His lips curled into a smile but his eyes looked sharp and icy.
"Tianjin, You know better than to disturb my meditation. What is so important you couldn't wait?" He busied himself with filling the two ceramics cups in front of him with tea as he spoke.
Tianjin's face didn't look good. He tried to contain his emotions but there just wasn't anyway to contain the fire burning inside him.
"Master forgive my insolence" He bowed slightly, a little bit forced.
The Old man chuckled warmly "i hold no grudges, what bring you here by this time?" He clearly knows why the young man was there already but he chose to ask again.
"Master is it true?" The young man asked a question of his own.
"What is true? Go straight to the point and stop asking questions Tianjin" Old man Yu's tone dropped, his brows creased displeased too.
"Master Yenxin says your orders are to not Kill the Phoenix star. How could that be? You thought me my whole life how dangerous she was to be left alive. How could you want us to spare her now?" The confusion he felt was purely displayed on his face.
He had spent Half his life in with this Taoist group. The Old Man had picked him up from the orphanage when he was but a toddler and had trained him to be a the world's purifier. All he had ever learnt after that was purging the world of the existence of people who should never have been alive, his top priority was this Phoenix Star like his master would call her, but now... He no longer wanted to kill her? That's absurd!
The Old man smiled. A smile that didn't reach his eyes. It was clear he was offended by the Young man's confrontation but he masked it well with this smile.
"I have my reasons." He gave a short reply, not bothering you explain any further.
Tianjin refuted "but master_"
"nothing changes. She would be terminated but not until I under this new divination. I can't help but feel there is something we are missing. You understand me don't you?" all lies. The look in his eyes said it all, if only Tianjin was able to see it. What Divination? if only they knew the truth. This Old man was clever, hiding his true intentions under Taoism. No one would ever suspect him not even his own disciples. Nevertheless a shadow can't stay in the dark forever. It was bound to meet the light some day.
"Yes master" Tianjin wasn't satisfied with the reply he got, still this is his master he had lived all his life with. He had never had a reason to doubt him so he wasn't going to start doubting him now.
The young man stood up and left, as a result missing the cold going that appeared on the Old man's face. He stared at the young man's exiting back and snorted. His hands reached into his lapels and dug out a cellphone.
"get ready and wait for my instructions. We take action soon. Have you found the item?" He spoke into the speaker. Replies came from the other end but they were inaudible, muffled by the receiver into mere incoherent mumblings.
The Diviner's face turned livid. He banged his fist on the ground land roared into the phone. "Enough Dilly Dallying! Find it!" He cut the call without waiting to hear what the reply would be. With the phone back in his pocket, he suddenly began coughing. His hands over his mouth, the room was filled with sounds of his coughing fit and deep red liquid trickling down his palm. His mouth and hands were dyed with his own blood.
"master!" a servant came running in. He helped the Old man that was almost out on the floor.
"Should I call Master Duk?" The Servant boy asked but the Old man shook his head vehemently despite being weak.
"He does support my Plans. Calling him would only give us up." He managed to sit up and wiped his mouth with the hems of his sleeves. "just a little more. A little more time and I'll succeed. Wan Lu's invention is all I need and that girl. Just a little more time" It couldn't be sure if he was talking to himself or to the servant boy. The look in his eyes vicious and determined. The one every vilian has right before his big move. Just what was this Great Diviner up to?.
Whatever it was the night was less concerned. Time continued in its pace and soon the darkened sky was dyed in a beautiful blue strip. The usual early morning glow just before the sun comes to give an orange canvas.
The sun came out and so did man.
Lu Yao Yin woke up in the arms of her boyfriend like everyother beautiful morning, except this time, the location was her place and not his.
Not wanting to wake the sleeping prince up, She crawled her way out of his arms to go get ready for the day. Just as she got out of his arms, her wrist was held and she was tugged back to the bed.
"leaving without a morning kiss" His husky voice rang into her eardrums.
Lu Yao Yin rolled her eyes, still her cheeks couldn't help flare up "You'll survive without it" She said and moved to stand up but she was pinned down again. With him towering above her, she could see his dazzling morning eyes that looked to have been touched by the morning dews. His pink lips even more Pinker than they had been the previous night. Was it just her or did he get more handsome over night?
Zi Yichen had the same thought on his mind. The girl eyes was glittering like crystals under light. Her face shining radiantly despite the she was just waking up. Her lips... he probably shouldn't go there at he was at a loss for words. Did he miss her so much that she looked to have changed in his eyes? Even more beautiful than he remembered.
"You look beautiful. I wish I could steal you away" He couldn't help but compliment. Had he told the world she was his yet? perhaps he should do that again and again and everyday without stop.
Lu Yao Yin chuckled, She wrapped her hand around his sturdy waist and showed her pearl white teeth "CEO Zi, don't you think you're being too cheesy? what would your followers say of you?"
He brushed a loose strand of hair behind her ear and smirked "what could they say? perhaps they're await a successor. What do you say we give them one now" He brought his lips down to her ear but Lu Yao Yin was quick to avoid him. Give him an inch and he surely would snatch a thousand miles. There was no way she was spending her day on bed.
"I pass" She deadpanned and pushed him off. Hurriedly walking off to go get ready before he came up with another trick. This trickster had a million way to get his way.
Zi Yichen laughed and didn't go after her. Perhaps he too had quite a busy day or he had a better plan on his sleeves.
Getting ready and having breakfast didn't take them much time and soon the two CEO's were on their way to their office. Lu Yao Yin had Si xunmi and even Si Luten to drop her off at the office but Zi Yichen strongly refused. How could he pass off an opportunity to feed everyone dog food.
"Be done by six, I'll pick you up" He said as he dropped her off in front of her office.
"What's the occasion?"
"Mom wants to have dinner with both of us" He said then left a kiss on her lips. Lu Yao Yin was used to his random mushiness so his actions didn't surprise her. She smiled then got out of the car. Her eyes darting to a black car parked somewhere across the road.
"Drive safely" She warned then watched him drive away. Once again her eyes went to that black car, but in the next second the car drove away back into the road.
Was she imagining it? It felt like she was being watched by someone in the car. Actually she was being watched by everyone on the road. Seeing Zi Yichen drop her off was worth the attention but she could feel a different intent coming from that direction.
Not wanting to think more on it, she pushed it to the back of her mind and walked into the office.
