The simple notice received a lot of attention, people applauded DxD corporation for being genuine and not standing in the way of Justice, no one insulted the company anymore, all the insults and hurtful words were naturally hauled on Lu yao yin now.
For the expected day everybody began making their plans, someone like Lui shenhui and Lu shenqi has spent a lot of effort perfecting their plan till it was free of loopholes...or so they thought.
"this would work right?" "yes yes I'll do my best"
"just so you know...if this doesn't work out, I was never part of it so you are going to take all the blame. make sure you don't affiliate me with it you understand?"
Lu shenqi gulped nervously then nodded to Lui shenhui words, she knew right from time that the moment things gets exposed to the public that Lui shenhui was going to push all the blame on her. did Lui shenhui think that she was stupid?, well she would do her best to see that their plan was successful but if by any chance it really ends up in a flop then she would see to it that hell has a vacant space for two.
"leave, don't go anywhere or see anyone till the press conference"
"hmmm" she hummed her answer and left the place dressed and hooded up like a criminal.
after Lui shenhui picked up her phone and dialed Zi yichen line, it rang the first time and no one picked but when she dialed the second time, he finally picked.
In Eagleswood, the lovebirds were already tucked in bed ready to call it a night when Zi yichen's phone began ringing. He picked it up and saw who it was then he dropped it back down.
"who was that?" Lu yao yin rose her head from his embrace and asked
"Lui shenhui"
"really?, she must be calling to comfort you for tomorrow" one could easily note the sarcasm laced in her voice.
"she's calling again, quick pick up" she nudged him and urged him to pick up.
Zi yichen was amused with how her eyes sparkled mischievously, the whole city was going bizarre because of her yet she looked like she was having a lot of fun with the procession of the events. this was one of the things he loved about her, she was kind of weird in how she thought or acted but in a very sweet and enchanting way though.
"okay" He replied and picked the phone.
"Yichen how are you?" Lui shenhui voice rang out of the receiver when the call was picked.
"hmm" Zi yichen gave a one syllabled answer.
"are you asleep already?" the gentle voice boomed again.
"yes"
"ahh sorry, I just wanted to check on how you were feeling, is everything alright?"
"yes everything's fine"
Lui shenhui was going to inquire about Lu yao yin and see if by any chance she was with Zi yichen but she just couldn't bring herself to utter the question, Zi yichen was a very observant person, he might think something was fishy if she who wasn't on talking terms with Lu yao yin suddenly began asking her whereabouts, so at the last second she changed her question
"I was wondering if you would be going for the press conference?"
Zi yichen played along and gave her the kind of question she would love to hear "why should I?" his aloof voice rang into her ear.
Her eyes lightened up a little and a small smile appeared on her lips.
"I'm sorry for asking, I know it must be hard for you right now, I shouldn't have asked forgive me" her previous gentle voice had turned the gear up and become even more gentle that now it could practically tickle your eardrums like feather on skin.
"hmmm"
"I shouldn't keep you awake, I'll hang up now, goodnight Yichen" she bade him good night and cut the call with a smile of relief on her lips.
how couldn't she be happy when to her she had envisioned a thick hatred and resentment between Zi yichen and Lu yao yin. Now she had hope, at least without Zi yichen helping Lu yao yin she was 90% sure of defeating Lu yao yin, now the two were not together anymore she had all the chance in the world to woo Zi yichen, at least this was what she thought but she was dead wrong cause those two were a lot more than being together.
"Yichen? never knew you guys were that close" Lu yao yin jested when the call came to an end.
Lu yao yin was seething at Lui shenhui in her heart cause of how intimate she had made the name sound. she who was his girlfriend had never called him so intimately yet some motherf*cking b*tch was already overpassing her boundary.
if not that she had promised Zi yichen that she wouldn't interfer then she would have really thought that delusional girl a lesson not to cover other people's property.
"jealous?" He whispered into her ear with a cheeky smirk on his lips
"you wish!" she refuted
"oh come on, I can tell you're jealous, you look like you're about to murder someone right now" he continued teasing
"still doesn't mean I'm being jealous" She defended
"really? even if you found out she kissed me earlier today?"
Lu yao yin's darkened and she glared at him "you wouldn't dare"
seeing she was getting agitated, he dropped the tease and began placating her "yeah yeah I wouldn't dare, I belong to you and you alone so there's no how I'll dare give myself to anyone else"
"hmph!" she snorted arrogantly "thought so"
He chuckled and drew her into his embrace "just as I belong to you, you also belong to me, so you can only love me in this lifetime and the next to come and every after that okay?"
"I don't know, I might change my mind and meet someone that I love more than I love you. no one knows what can happen" she shrugged
now it was his time to get jealous, just the thought of her loving someone else and being together with another man that wasn't him, infuriated him deeply
"that would never happen" he said firmly
"how sure are you? no one knows the future" she said again nonchalantly.
"I'll make sure of it, I'll stick to you for the rest of your life, if you go to the ocean I'll be right because you, if you go to the sky I'll be there too, even if you go to the underworld, I'll storm my way there and bring you back"
although he was saying this to her, he was more or less making a pledge to himself too, He has found the woman he loves and nothing was going to separate them, not in this life or any after it, he was going to make sure of that. She was his and his forever.
Lu yao yin smiled to this words and snuggled into his embrace the more before closing her eyes and allowing his enchanting scent soak her into a deep slumber
