after a few more days in City Z, Lu yao yin and Zi yichen alongside their entourage flew back to imperial city.
Even when they tried being incognito people still figured their identity and began taking pictures of them. that same day happened to be the day of Shi zeyi trial so when the picture was posted online it raised more insults for the already jailed man

"yes you are" even if he denied it from now to tomorrow she would not believe him, she knew Zi yichen completely, that man was a freaking vinegar producer, he could even be jealous over a non living object.
"then are you sad?" he avoided her accusation and asked his question again

'that's true' Lu yao yin nodded her head agreeing to the statement but then realisation hit her 'wait who's my new?'
"how does that relate to me? who's my new?" she asked baffled
"me" He replied firmly
"you?" she asked surprised
"yes me, am I not your boyfriend?" his expression was looking serious you wouldn't believed it was just a thing of his imagination

"since when? i don't recall you asking me out" she gave him a sharp doubtful look
"I'm asking you out right now, so will you make me your boyfriend?" He leaned in and asked with a half flirty face and half serious face.
"you're crazy" she pushed him away and ignored him.

The court was rowdy with reporters and people that had come to witness Shi zeyi trial, it wasn't surprising to find that absolutely nobody came in support of Shi zeyi.
even the lawyer assigned to his case was very reluctant to fight for Shi zeyi but his firm stupid boss was blinded to make a name for their firm and picked up the case. He wasn't even going to put any effort and would just take the case shabbily
The Shi family entered looking gloomy and sorrowful, Shi jianguo looked a decade older than his age as he was supported into the court by the housekeeper, then Yan meilin followed behind with a pale face and eyes swollen like walnuts
after all the evidence were deposited by the police against Shi zeyi, the judge asked if there was anything he would like to share with the court.
"I didn't kill her" the delusional man started "I...I pointed the gun at her head but I didn't shoot, I really didn't shoot, so...so h_how did she die?" it was more or less like he was talking to himself
they had shown him all the footage during his interrogation and he completely reckoned with the one that showed him abducting Shi yunya and even the one that showed him pointing the gun at her head but he didn't understand how the footage of him shooting her head and then dragging her dead body out the warehouse came to be cause he doesn't remember doing any of that.
It was him in the footage alright but he couldn't remember any of it. it's either he was suddenly possessed by an evil spirit or someone was trying to frame him
"I didn't kill her! someone is trying to frame me!" he suddenly exclaimed crazily
"you didn't kill her? but you said you point a fun to her head, so what happened after that?" a lawyer asked him.
"I...I don't know, I can't remember, I only woke up the next morning with the police at me door wanting to arrest me, I really didn't kill her" he defended himself. although he planned on killing her he really didn't kill her so why should he go to jail.
"if you didn't kill her then where is she? or where is her body?"
"I don't know! stop asking me question I don't know!" he suddenly went violent but was easily subdued by the officers around him
"Mr judge, my client says he doesn't know, so what if he really doesn't know and someone is really trying to frame him, what if the video was tampered with?" even if the lawyer was not interested in the case he still couldn't sit still and watch his client burn in the flame of questions, it would only tarnish his image
"The video has been sent to several computer geniuses but they had all said there was nothing wrong with it, so it definitely wasn't tampered with" the other lawyer objected

The opposition lawyer sneered and replied sarcastically "lawyer Yu what era are we? please don't bring up facts you don't know"
The judge was less interested in the Lawyers scuffle, so he turned directly to Shi zeyi.
"Mr Shi zeyi, if you don't speak the truth I would have no other choice but to give my verdict" His voice was clearly warning Shi zeyi
"what truth! I didn't kill her! I really didn't kill her, I was going to kill her but I didn't what other truth do you want" Shi zeyi had totally lost his rationality that was why he could still stupidly say that he was going to kill Shi yunya. someone who wasn't stupid would deny ever even coming in contact with her at all
There were solid evidence against him so even if he denied it a million times he still would be convicted for murder. after a few more statement Shi zeyi was charge guilty for the murder of his sister Shi yunya and then sentenced to life in prisonment.
Nobody felt pity for him, instead they rejoiced as if the most notorious terrorist had finally been sealed with, the only people that could still be said to be sulking were the Shi family and how could they not sulk
Their children have simultaneously become non-existent and they have become childless, one was dead and the other would spend the rest of his life in prison cell
It must truly a heart wrenching experience for the family
Shi zeyi struggled like a mad man against the hold of the police men but at the end he was still bundled up and shoved in a police van
