"Father" Shi jianguo walked towards the old man and gently guided him to take a sit
The Old man face looked red and his locked brows could show how much he was trying to hold his anger in check
"How can you all stand there and vehemently insult and abuse a young child! Do any of you have conscience as adults!"
"You spit and snicker at the mention of her name but are you any different! hypocrites!"
"Grandfather it's okay, your health would be affected if you get angry like this" Shi Zeyi said as he walked towards the old man.
He was in the waiting room when he heard the initially rowdy crowd go quite and then his Grandfathers angry voice, although he had turned a deaf ear to the crowd hateful comments earlier on he could not possible feign ignorance now that his grandfather was around.
"hmph!" The Old man snorted angrily " I'm also angry at you, how can you sit still and hear people badmouth your fiancée? Do you hate her that much?!"
Shi Zeyi kept quite but a glint of disdain flashed through his eyes and he immediately contained it, He used to like Lu yao yin when they were little but as they grew up he saw that she was just a Muddleheaded idiot, the more they grew up the more he disdained her.
"I'm sorry grandpa I was wrong" he politely apologised which helped in calming the old man's anger, but his expression showed that it didn't come from his heart
"I'm sorry I'm late" a languid voice resounded.
Everybody's attention turned to the door as Lu yao yin elegantly walked in...
her face held no iota of anxiousness or anxiety, she didn't even look like she was in a hurry, it was like she was late to someone else's engagement party not hers plus her dressing said otherwise too
The image before them overwhelmed everyone, Lu yao yin was best known for being dandy, she always fussed over what she wore even when it looked extremely hideous on her. Before now she was known for wearing overly short things with a ton of makeup plastered on her face, this was why even though she was really beautiful underneath all those clothings, people only knew her for being ugly.
"Oh my God! is that Lu yao yin?"
"I can't believe this, my brain too find it hard to process, how did she go from ugly to_to this?"
"I thought she had a thing for exposing dresses, so why is she suddenly putting on a tank top and baggy jeans"
They were so shocked that most of them unconsciously began to hawl compliment at her. They couldn't believe that there was such a beauty in imperial and no one knew of it.
"Grand father Shi I'm sorry I'm late, I ran into some incident on the way" she directly ignored everyone else and apologised to the old man, even the Shi zeyi who was standing next to the Old man was also totally ignored
Shi zeyi looked at the new Lu yao yin and felt that everthing had changed about her, apart from her change in dressing anybody that knew her before wouldn't believe that this new Lu yao yin who had angel-like face but emitted a terrifying aura which was capable of chilling you to your bones was actually the same Lu yao yin from before. He furrowed his eyebrows as he noticed she hadn't even peeped at him since she walked in, it was almost like she didn't put him in her eyes, He remember how before now every time she saw him she would cling to him and follow him about, always smiling and stealing glances at him but now it was as if she was a different person entirely and he was totally irrelevant to her
"what happened to your head?" Grandfather shi exclaimed when he noticed the head bandage hidden under her floating hair
"I had a little accident on my way here and I hit my head a bit its nothing" she answered nonchalantly
"nothing? look at your hands there are little bruises everywhere? even your fingers have several cuts, how could it be nothing!"
"Grandpa its really nothing I'm fine, beside I got here without any accompanying issues and that all that matters, right?" this question was not directed to the Old man rather to Lu shenqi.
"yes yes all that matters is that your fine"
"poor child and we kept misunderstanding you that your were late because of your dress, aish did you lie to stop us from worrying?" He said everything at once so Lu shenqi didn't have enough time to change the topic
"lie? about?" she knew what he was talking but wanted the conversion go deeper
"I_I thought your sister called you and you said something had happened to your dress and you needed to change it? wasn't that what you said?" The Grandpa Shi asked innocently, he also knew the truth but felt like this was a good avenue to show Lu shenqi real colours to everyone.
"he he" Lu yao yin chuckled indifferently "How could she have called me when I don't even have a phone, sister must have made a mistake, right?"
"what?! that was actually a lie?" someone exclaimed
"Didn't we both just hear it together?, I wonder why she would lie about her sister" another person answered back
"she made us all misunderstand the poor girl, hmph! how could she!"
Lu Shenqi looked at the stares that were sent her way and felt like she was placed in the midst of pricking needles, she clenched her fist and reminded herself a dozen times in her mind how much she hated Lu yao yin.
"I_I didnt mean to, I o_only thought that I should give an explanation on your behalf for why you hadn't come early...I didn't_ didn't think too much about it...I'm sorry that I caused you troubles" she appeared so pityful that no one had the heart to reprimand her again, coupled with the droplet of tears dripping down her face. Lu yao yin wasn't surprised by the outcome cause she already knew Lu shenqi acting ability, if it were the past Lu yao yin she even would have stupidily cried and consoled Lu shenqi on the spot.
She snorted and ignored the scene before her and just turned to Grandfather Shi " Now that I'm here let's forget every other incident and focus on our agenda for today"
she gained a new light in the eyes of some people as she had chosen to forget about what Lu shenqi and just choose to carry on but some people like Shi zeyi thought that she was just eager to get engaged to him and didn't want any thing to stand in the way. The frown that had been hanging between Shi zeyi's eyebrows faded and he resumed looking at her with disdain in his eyes.
"sure sure, we're here for the Engagement between you and our precious Shi zeyi so nothing should be more important"
people cheered and clapped loudly sending teasing looks towards the two of them, Shi zeyi gave a humble smile, while Lu yao yin had a lazy grin on her face, She looked unfazed by the congratulatory screams directed to her.
"we need no more excess talk about this anymore than to declare that from today hence forth Shi zeyi and Lu_"
"Wait" she stopped him before he could mention her name,
"Lu yao yin what are you doing?" Lu xunhe walked towards her and dragged her arm anxiously, he didn't seem to understand how she had suddenly changed tonight.
She stare at the hand holding her then up at him the owner of the hand "let go of me" her voice held so much power that he subconsciously let go of her arms
"Grandfather Shi I know its your wish to see me and Shi zeyi get married but that won't be possible any longer as I do not want to"
Everybody: what?!
No one could believe what they just heard, when they thought Lu yao yin could not live without Shi zeyi, now here she was proposing an annulment.
"Grandpa I had lasted in this agreement till this time cause I wanted to fulfill my mothers last wish...but I also believe that my mum where ever she is would want me to be happy more than anything. I used to hope for this day ever since...but now thinking of it alone annoys me talkless of being in it. so I don't believe there is any reason why I should be here" Lu yao yin said everything at once not giving anybody the chance to interrupt, immediately she spoke finish she took a bow and walked out of the hall without even looking back.
The hall broke out into an uproar once again as people whispered among themselves, the faces of the Shi and Lu family were all ashen while Grandfather Shi just sighed since he already knew why she had done that, he could also feel how she felt.
