CHAPTER FORTY-NINE
Chike toss on the bed like he was being prodded like a cattle. He was sweating profusely but he was also cold too. Jason did his best to wipe each bead of sweat as it came, anything to keep it from soaking the bandage that covered the abdominal wound.
His breathing was steady and normal now but that was about the only thing that was working in Chike's favor. Apart sweating, Chike had chills and general weakness. He was easily irritated even in his unconscious state.
Alyssa warned him about the headaches and muscle aches his friend might experience and that it might lead to a bad temper on Chike's side.
Jason tried feeding him with the mashed potato Alyssa's father sent to their room but Chike's would not have any of it. If his inability to take any food continues, Doctor Alyssa would have no other option that to insert a feeding tube through his nose and it was a sight Jason would rather not see.
