Elena opened the refrigerator to grab another batch of ice cream. It was the only thing McKenna agreed to eat. She had told her the cold feel of ice cream on her tongue made her world just a little better. Who was she to argue with her? And so, she made sure the refrigerator was always stock with ice cream especially vanilla, McKenna's favorite.
It was a Saturday and they watched television and played ludo game at the same time. It was a game they had always played for as long as Elena could remember. A game McKenna clearly sucked at but it never stopped her from playing. McKenna was just that stubborn.
Halfway through their sixth game McKenna's phone rang and she reluctantly picked up. Her mood had been crappy all week and Jason pulling a disappearing act on her did nothing to help her. She just came to work one day to find him gone. His number was disconnected and his calendar was cancelled.
