6 months later.
Yda was in the kitchen preparing their dinner when Gio came from work, walk towards the kitchen.
"Let's have divorce." Gio, her husband greeted her as she paused her movement. Yda thought she heard wrong and looked up from the ladle of soup to her husband.
"W-what?"
"I think, its time for us to have our own separate ways."
"Iㅡ"
"I have a lover." He said impatiently. "I met her at my business trip. We got along. We share the same ideas at business and I think I'm in love with her."
Yda's eyes trembled as tears starts to gather in her eyes. But she holds her tears and clench her trembling hands.
"You... love her?" She asks one question.
"Yes." He said impatiently.
For a moment Yda kept her silence. Gio was expecting for her reaction, in either elation or, he'd hope, something negative... like sadness or anger or betrayal. Anything is good just a reaction. Just to see what are they in this relationship.
"Okay." She smiled and continues, "can we do it later? I'm too hungry."
Gio paused but later nodded. He strides towards the stair to get himself change.
Yda who's alone felt her knees collapsed. She covers her lips as her cries, escapes. Tears streaming down both of her eyes as she remains silent.
Today she's going to tell him her condition. She didn't told him at first because they're not sure what is happening. But luckily Claude her doctor and a long time friend, diagnosed her that she's currently rejecting her heart.
She had a heart transplant 2 years before they've even met and got married. Since it was successful and she was healed, she didn't tell Gio about it and the scar was hidden behind a tattoo that she gave an excuse of regets in her youth.
But recently she had palpitations. So she immediately contacted her good friend, Claude, to asks for help. 6 months later, Claude finally found a match to her, but it was still an operation, she needed a recovery time. She needed to tell Gio her condition.
She was planning to tell him today because he had been having business trip all the time. But now he's asking for a divorce because he saw his true love.
She needs to calm down first. It was not good to be stressed right now or be emotional. She managed to control her emotions in a few breaths.
When she was calm, Yda wipe her tears and continue to prepare the dinner. She sits on her chair beside Gio's and waited for him to come down.
She waited and wait. But he never go down to eat with her.
Ah... it hurts.
She sits alone with the cold food she had prepared.
Feeling melodramatic as the moonlight seeped throught the huge window. Outside is the beautiful full moon illuminating the dark clouds. They have the best view among the neighborhood, their house situated at the top center overlooking the sight of city lights.
It was so beautiful that it makes you breathless. But tonight its seems lonely.
She whispered, "The moon is beautiful tonight, isn't it Gio?"
She smiled bitterly as she hears his laughter coming from his office. It was very very cold night. She can't help her tears from falling down again.
