Chapter 6 - First Step (2.3)

"Twin Shot!"

I fire two arrows at the ghoul in less than a second. I smile a little when I see the Ghoul is dead and turned into a speck of light. Right now, I'm three hundred meters from my spawn point. After killing the five ghouls in the spawn area, I go north, where I see many ghouls roaming around the street.

While I said that I want to explore the dungeon, I cannot just walk around like in the game. I need to sneak around and aggro one mob one at a time before killing them in the empty area. I can only take two ghouls at the time maximum. I will run away far enough to let the ghoul get back to their calm state if I aggro three or more ghouls.

It is hard. The game and movie make it look easy. I know they say that zombies don't need to rest, but I never thought that I would experience it in real life. The ghoul is restless. They will continue to chase after you even when their legs get blown up. I know the description says that they are mad because of the mutation that happened to them, but I never thought that they would become a mindless monster.

"GRAAAH"

I snap from my thoughts when I hear something coming from my back. I quickly dodge to the left and see it was another ghoul who tried to ambush me. I jump high and shoot the ghoul in the head. After hitting the ghoul in the head, I activate my Moon Kick to jump in the air once again and reach the roof of a building behind me.

"Piercing shot!"

After I say that, my body moves on its own, pulls the string of my bow with all my strength, and releases it. I can see the arrow imbued with my mana hit the Ghoul in the head.

"Twin Shot!"

I activate my other skill and fire two arrows in less than a second toward the ghoul's two legs. As the mobs fall to the ground, I begin to fire arrow after arrow. After a few seconds, the ghoul disappears.

Seeing the ghoul disappear, I look around the area to see if there is another ghoul ready to ambush me. Seeing one in the crossroad near my location, I aim my bow and fire another arrow at the ghoul.

I can fire an arrow up to 120 meters long before the arrow falls to the ground with my current strength.

I continue to fire my arrow toward the incoming ghoul, but the ghoul is dead with many arrows to the face before it could reach me.

After checking the area for another few seconds, I nod my head and get down from the roof. Right now, I need to continue to explore the dungeon.

~Five hours later~

Right now, I'm taking a break inside one of the buildings that are mostly intact. For today's lunch, it was an A5 Miyazaki Wagyu steak cooked medium rare with a side of Mashed potato and gravy. While I love meself Japanese cooking, sometimes I want a western-style food.

Today's hunt is a little bit hectic than normal. Maybe it was because I was exploring the dungeon rather than camping.

I put the meat into my mouth and began to chew. While I cannot tell the difference between Kobe and Miyazaki beef, I can tell the difference between A5 Wagyu and your grocery meat.

However, before I could put another piece of meat inside my mouth, my sense screamed at me to dodge. Without hesitation, I used all my strength to jump away from my previous location. A second after I jump away, I see a blur fly past me and hit the ground creating a crater on the ground.

When the dust vanished, I could see it was a different kind of ghoul. If the normal feral ghoul is like a zombie from a movie, this one is different.

This one has long legs and hands for one. I also can see the eyes of this ghoul glowing even with the sun above me. It also has a long claw that is ready to tear me apart.

Ghoul Hunter| |Level: 1| |HP: 700/700|

Ghoul Hunter is a special ghoul that mutated even further. The mutation makes both its arms and legs grow longer. These arms and legs let the Hunter pounce the player, stabbing them through their flesh and pinning them before eating the player alive.|

Dammit. I fire my arrow at the Hunter. I frown a little when I see all my arrows get blocked by the hunter's claw. It looks like the claw is strong enough to slice through the arrow.

I snap from my thoughts when my danger sense screams at me once again. With a quick jump to the left, I dodge the hunter that tries to pounce me. After dodging the hunter, I quickly activated my skill.

"Piercing Shot!"

I fire another arrow at the hunter. Just like before, the hunter tries to block the incoming attack, but unlike before this time, the hunter cannot block the incoming arrow as it penetrates the claw with ease.

The hunter screams loudly and jumps away from the building. My eyes continue to track the hunter and try to hit it with my arrow, but sadly its movement is too quick for my arrow to hit. I raise my eyebrow a little when I see I can easily dodge all the arrows I fire at it.

I need to test something. I stop from running around and stand in the middle of the road while looking at the hunter's movement. Seeing me stopped, I can see the hunter stop on one of the building surfaces and begin to enter its pounce stance.

A second later, I jump away from the Hunter and fire an arrow toward the hunter that just landed. Instead of dodging like before, the hunter deflected all the incoming arrows. It looks like I was right.

The hunter cannot jump away after making a pounce attack. I continue to fire my arrow for a few seconds before the hunter begins to jump away once again. It needed three seconds before it could jump once again.

I can do this.

I wait for the hunter to stop moving and prepare myself to dodge its incoming attack. When I see the hunter enter its pounce stance once again and launch itself toward me, I dodge the attack by jumping high to the air.

Seeing the hunter on the ground, I activated my skill.

"Piercing Shot!"

I fire my arrow, and it pierces through the hunter's hands and pins it to the ground. I have one seconds before the arrow teleports to the quiver.

"Twin Shot!"

After seeing the arrow pinned the hunter's hands into the ground, I activated my other skill and hit the hunter right in the head. I smirk a little when I see the hunter HP bar decreasing at my attack. It is working.

I continue to fire my arrow as fast as I can. While some of them get deflected by the hunter, my arrow manages to hit the hunter. After three seconds is up, the hunter begins to jump away to the building around me.

This one will be a long fight.

~Thirty Minutes Later~

It was the longest fight I ever had. That bastard can aggro a ghoul around the area toward me by throwing a stone at the ghoul. The hunter is also smart enough to lead me to a certain location by attacking me from a certain direction. The hunter led me to a narrow path where I cannot jump away to the left and right.

Lucky for me, the hunter only has two modes. Attacking, or as it is called Pounce Stance, and the other one is the Free Running mode, where the hunter will stick the wall of a building by stabbing its claw to a wall.

Congratulations for defeating your first Special Mobs!|

My status increased once again. I also get ten XP by killing that one Special Monster. Do I get something from killing that monster? I open up my inventory and see there is nothing new inside my inventory.

Meaning that even a special monster did not give me loot? What the hell. What a stingy dungeon.

At least I get one thousand Shop Token from killing the hunter. As I was about to take my bow from the ground, my stomach began to grumble, reminding me it was time to have some lunch.

"I guess I need to search for a place for me to eat in peace."
