"Yes!" she exclaimed when she made it on time. As the representative of the class, she was advised by their adviser to come early. Apparently, there's a transferee student assigned in their section and she is tasked to the touring in the campus before the start of the class.
When she reached the door of the faculty room, she carefully reached the door knob and gently opened the door not to draw any attention. She peeped for a moment and she saw their adviser talking with a girl whose back is facing her.
She decided to approached them and smiled at the teachers who looked her way.
"Good morning Ms. Collins," she greeted with a smile when she reached her teacher's table. The girl her teacher's talking to turned to look at her so she smiled brightly towards the girl. The girl smiled timidly, obviously a little shy with her presence.
"Good morning!" Ms. Collins greeted back. "This is Analeigh Martinez," Ms. Collins introduced to her so she smiled again at the girl. "Analeigh, this is Leyla Stanford, our class' representative and she'll tour and assist you until you're familiar with things in school," she finished.
The girl nodded at her timidly. At the moment, she could tell that the girl was a shy one.
"Come, I'll tour you around," she happily grabbed the girl's hand and led her out of the faculty room. "So, can I call you Leigh?" she asked when they're outside.
"S-sure," Leigh answered.
"Leigh it is," she grinned and excitedly led her the way around.
One thing she likes the most was to meet new people and befriend them. She hated seeing someone being an outcast and she always had a protective instinct towards them. It's probably because she was an outcast herself when she transferred in the second year of high school. Luckily, she was able to establish a good reputation and she managed to be one of the most liked student from being an outcast.
She glanced at the girl next to her. She thought that there must be a heavy reason why this girl transferred in their senior year especially that it's 2 months from the start of the school year. As much as she wanted to know, she's not the person who pry on someone's story so she just focused on making her more comfortable as much as possible.
They went around the campus until they reached the last place of the tour.
"This is our gymnasium," she finished while pointing the big building separated from the school building. She led Leigh inside.
The varsity players of the Basketball team were currently having their morning exercises. All of the boys stopped when they noticed them and stared at them, especially to her, with admiration. However, all of the attention she's getting were nothing because what only matters was the attention of the Captain of the basketball team whose back was facing them because he's in front, facing his team mates.
When the guy turned around, it's as if everything around them were in slow motion. She was just snapped back to reality when she realized that the main reason why she's there was because she's touring the girl beside her.
"That's Yvan Masa, the captain," she whispered at the girl beside her while waving at the guys. She's trying her best not to sound excited at the mention of Yvan's name.
Ever since she laid her eyes on Yvan, she knew right then that she's attracted to him. No, it was not because Yvan is breathtakingly handsome because there are a lot of guys in the campus who are also as good looking as him. The reason was probably because she finds Yvan mysterious. He's like a puzzle she wanted to solve even if it would take most of her time and effort.
Yvan was the main reason why she tried her best to get out of the outcast zone. And even if Yvan still was not noticing her the way she wanted to, she swore at the the start of their senior year that she'll do everything to make Yvan see her the way she wanted him to be.
"Yo, Ley!" an arm snaked around her waist making her slapped it as a reflex. She looked angrily to the person who dared to touched her just to see Rancher Bryce, the guy she cannot tolerate to be around with.
The guy in front of him is undeniably good looking. However, due to his playful attitude and him being over friendly towards her, she cannot stand him. Many girls ship them and she always want to gag when they support him on the way he's acting towards her.
"Jerk," she cursed at him but he just smirk instead.
"A transferee?" he asked, referring to Leigh. She can see that Leigh was uncomfortable at the presence of Rancher and she can understand it. Even herself cannot afford to be comfortable to be around this guy.
"Yeah," she answered with a bore tone. "Anyway, we're leaving," she added and she glanced at where Yvan was. Her forehead wrinkled when she noticed that Yvan was looking at Leigh but when she noticed her looking, he nodded at her. He ignored what just happened because it's probably because she's a new face that's why she went back at her cheerful self and waived at Yvan goodbye before gently pulling Leigh away to go to their classroom.
"So this is where it ends my touring service," she joked making Leigh smile with a genuine smile. She released a sigh of relief because she finally made Leigh feel comfortable with her.
At this moment, she realized that Leigh has a certain charisma. At first, you will not realize that she's stunning in her own way because she's a little timid and awkward. She looks plain at first but when you get to stare at her or when you get to spend more time with her, you will realize that she's stunning despite her only wearing plain clothes.
She suddenly remembered the way Yvan was looking at the girl earlier. At first, she thought it was just because she's a new girl. But what if, even in the lightest possibility, what if Yvan found her beautiful? Would it make her chance with Yvan become slimmer because of Leigh? What would she do if that's the case?
