"Shit, what's with these monsters?" Kence cursed in alarm. Why did monsters suddenly came charging in his direction?
Although Kence and Calter doesn't exactly know the reason why the monsters are targeting them, they still have a hunch
No other monsters originally went to their location after the aura of the Dragon and Phoenix spreads. But after the slightly reddish fog engulfs them, the monsters started acting like they were the sweetest treats in the world
"Don't go too far from me" Calter said to Kence in concern but the latter only felt discontent at that. "For the second time, I'm not a fragile man"
Kence hates it when Calter is treating him like this. He is a man, not a fragile flower!
Without listening to Calter, Kence immediately runs and met the monsters head-on. If he would die because of these monsters, he would at least die while fighting!
Calter had another headache because of Kence. He knew that his man is strong but as the person that he loves, how can Calter no worry for Kence?
In just a few seconds, Kence already met some of the monsters. He doesn't act like this is the first time for him fighting monsters
The lineage of Ice Phoenix is a blessing and he instantly gained a good combat sense
A black hound that was as large as a wolf frenziedly pounced on Kence. Its wide-open mouth that revealed sharp rows of teeth and slimy saliva entered Kence's vision
It made him a bit disgusted but Kence knew that this was not the time for that. His eyes flash with a cold blue light as his silky icy hair fluttered in the winds
Kence poured mana into his sword causing it to glow with a blue light. With a single sword slash, Kence managed to do the thing that was impossible to do for normal humans
The hound's head instantly flew in the air. Before it can even bleed, its wound was already frozen with Phoenix Ice that continues to harm its already dead body
In worry, Calter went closer to Kence. His instincts knew what to do and golden-colored dragon scales grew in his hands. His nails even grow longer and sharper. Calter's whole hand was turned into a hand similar to what a Dragon has
Calter can feel unimaginable strength coursing through his hands. He clenches his fists and threw a power-filled punch at the head of a monster that was about to harm his man
Calter originally already has enough power to bend steel. But now that Dragon Scales grew in his hands, he easily turned the head of the monster he punches into a meat paste
Blood, flesh, and brain matter, scattered around. Calter's already ripped clothes that were caused by the snakefolks from before was dirtied with the meat paste
However, instead of feeling disgusted, it arouses the ferocity of Calter's Dragon Blood and Soul
"Rooaar!!" Calter releases a dragon's roar that intimidated all the monsters around. That gave him and Kence the chance to kill more of their enemies
Despite fighting and killing side by side for the first time, the two has almost perfect teamwork
It was like they were made to dance on a battlefield together. Truly a match made in heaven!
Calter taps Kence's body and the latter instantly felt lighter than before. The effects the gravity has on him diminishes and Kence jumped high
That single jump elevated Kence to a height of around 10 meters and his crystal sword once again glowed with an icy light
Kence twisted his body in the air and releases cold blue sword lights all around him. The sword lights cut the flesh of the monsters around but not even a single blood was shed
The weaker monsters instantly died after they were hit while the stronger ones sustained minor to heavy injuries
Suddenly, a human figure flash, and several heads exploded at once. The power of the two was beyond other humans that only awakened their powers
Minutes and minutes passed. The monster corpses already piled up
Despite being powerful, this is still the first time for Kence and Calter to use their powers. The burden it brought to them was heavy and they are now panting heavily
However, despite killing tens of monsters together, there was still a lot near them
Kence's crystal sword was already chipped with some cracks here and there. Even some of Calter's Dragon Scales already came off
Numbers still played an important role considering that the prisoners that escaped are only the weakest and the humans only started to wield mana again
There was still no one that can dominate thousands of people at once. Including the legendary Dragon and Phoenix Blooded
Currently, the two were standing side by side while inside the encirclement of monsters. Their breathing was heavy as sweat rolled down their bodies that washed away some of the blood that was splashed on them
"K-Kence, w-we can't defeat them all. Let's run!" Calter suggested. If this goes on, they might be buried here with the monsters. They simply don't have the ability to kill all of these creatures
Kence knew that staying alive is the most important and he didn't become stubborn. He nodded his head in understanding and Calter's mana spread around him and Kence
"[Gravity Control!]" Calter whispered. He controlled gravity to some extent and both his and Kence's body felt lighter
They run towards the monsters side by side before jumping in the air. A single leaped of them already moved their bodies more than ten meters away
Their feet landed on the monsters' head but before the monsters can even attack them, they already jumped again
They used the monsters' bodies as a stepping stone and soon, the sounds of gunshots became louder and louder
Not far from them was a team of policemen firing their guns towards the monsters. Along with the policemen were civilians that were shaking in fear of the apocalypse that suddenly descended down on earth
Some of the civilians that were either brave or want to survive also use their newly gained ability to help
Burning balls of fire, raging tides of water, destructive winds, icy rain, and other sorts of attacks flew in the air
Both humans and monsters died. However, after the majority of police arrives, the non-intelligent monsters were being slaughtered causing the smell of blood in the air to become stronger and stronger
Some of the smarter monsters realize that the humans on earth are not that weak. Some were holding weapons that can shoot metals faster than the speed of sound
It has enough power to poke holes in their bodies. If the non-intelligent monsters realize they cannot win, more so for the creatures with complete sentience
The prisoners initially thought that the earthlings that lived in a world without mana would be powerless against them
Who would have thought that they have interesting toys that are deadly considering only the weakest creatures managed to exit the crimson cracks?
The intelligent creatures reevaluated the earthlings and they changed their minds. They can't dominate the earthlings and they can only hide!
Hide and wait for the stronger prisoners to arrive here!
Thus, it took a few days for the government and the police force to barely stabilize the situation
There were still monsters both hidden and not in human societies but the large scale massacres were at least prevented from happening
The government of the 4 Countries raised an International Level Alarm. The danger was enough to endanger humanity itself
The crimson cracks already disappeared but that is just temporary. The earth's mana was growing the more time that passed
The more mana on earth becomes, the stronger the world's connection to the Prison of Sinners would be
If that happens, the stronger beings would sooner or later enter the earth. Guns are still effective at this stage but in the future, that is hard to say
Fortunately, aside from modern weaponry, the humans also learned how to wield mana and use magic
The government even gave out basic manuals to the public that they got from the historical records and captured people from the prison
As this is an International Level Disaster, it wasn't an easy thing to placate. The citizens pressured the government for help and in return, the government publicized the manuals
After all, the police cannot discover all the monsters. If some monsters sneak inside someone's house, how can it be easy to protect them?
The soldiers and police were mobilized to defend the citizens but it was not a perfect countermeasure
There were still loopholes and places that they cannot enter. The situation seems to calm down by a lot after a few days but that is just only on the surface
A lot of supernatural creatures were still in hiding. Waiting for the other prisoners to come and help conquer the earth
The bit of peace the world still has only looked like the calm before the storm. Even then, there are still a lot of killings that were happening and the government can only increase the security for as sturdy as they can
