"Just let me rest for a few hours."
Anton went unconscious after saying that, leaning against the enormous tree. He said he didn't have any rest in the five days—Wrik had a few questions he would like to ask Anton. But that had to wait until Anton woke up. Wrik checked up on Anton to see if anything was wrong or not.
"Looks like Ton had assassinated the goblin chief," Wrik announced awkwardly, looking at the girl, but she said nothing, kept her eyes on him while advancing towards him.
"Wrik Everknight," she whispered in a slow yet stern tone. "Do not make this type of mistake again."
"Yes, but he's my brother. I . . ." he was about to say further when she interrupted him.
"Sit down." she pressed an arm against his shoulder and sat him down, leaning against the same enormous tree as Anton. The tree was enormous enough to keep the two of them with ease. She unfastened the bag from behind her back. "You should be aware of the dangers here before coming here, yet you make this type of blunder . . ."
"Yes, Ma'am," Wrik nodded heavily like a child.
Yet the emerald-eyed little lady kept lecturing him about how he recklessly charged up against the goblins. Wrik kept his mouth shut the entire time; he knew what would have happened if she didn't come to their rescue. He finally nodded, apologising for his error.
"Let me see the wound," she said, untying the leg guard in his left thigh. She was untying it gently, yet he felt pain. He gritted his teeth as he looked at the wound unfolding. Even though it missed the bone, it was still quite nasty . . . blood condensed in dark scarlet colour around it, yet there was still blood rushing out from it in dark red.
"It would be a lot more painful," she commented, giving a good look at the wound. She opened a container of antibiotic liquid from the kit. "I don't know if it'll work, but there's no harm in trying. Give me your arm."
Wrik gave his left arm to her, unknowing of what she was attempting. She stroked the arm gently with her palm while gazing straight at his dark eyes. Wrik found somewhat attracted to her lovely pair of emerald eyes in the very next moment.
He could see the gracious hue of sapphire in them—broadening the depth. He unknowingly dived in that depth. He could see the soft mists there, drifting away above a frozen lake. Yet the frozen lake was not cold in the slightest . . . it's like an ethereal feeling. A feeling he couldn't describe in words.
When he woke up from the visions, he found that there were droplets of sweat on the little lady's forehead, and besides the little nose. He gazed at the wound of his to notice that she was bandaging. 'What just happened?' Did he just miss a few more steps?
"I didn't think it would work," the girl answered, knowing his inner thoughts. "I thought your innate ability would resist it. But I succeeded, though it was awfully hard, you got a will of steel."
"Eh?" Wrik furrowed his brow with uncertainty.
"I have the innate ability that could mask feeling like pain. It's called the [Mist of Change]," she answered, noticing his confused look.
Wrik nodded. He comprehended, she used her ability on him so that he couldn't feel any discomfort over the treatment. He might even ruin it by moving abruptly. "Thank you, . . ." he whispered.
"It's Tanya," she said.
Wrik raised an eyebrow, then nodded. "Thank you, Tanya." It was her name. His lips curved in a smile. "It is a good name."
"I know," she rose. It was the first time Wrik had seen her—shying away. She said nothing after that.
From here, their shelter was about a quarter of an hour away. After catching some breath, Wrik planned to take the unconscious body of Anton there. But Tanya forbade him to carry any weight with that injured leg. She said it was quite close to their shelter so somebody definitely would come here to check.
Wrik complied with her reasoning without much argument. For the next few minutes, none of the two opened their mouths to disrupt the silence. Wrik did peek at her more than a few times. She even caught him peeking a few times. Yet she said nothing, just turned away.
Without much to do, Wrik checked the condition of Anton's body with the [Eye of insights]. He found no anomaly apart from occasional injuries on the body and the blood pressure being abruptly high.
A blue transparent window arrived in the thin air to verify his analysis.

There's quite a lot of information delivered this time. Maybe Anton being unconscious was the reason. Before this, he tried to inspect Davin and it couldn't tell most of the stat properly.
Anton succeeded to a class and even advanced the omega rank from E to D. The private attributes were also better than his, but that was not the reason for his astonishment. He was surprised at the two OMEGA ABILITIES: [Shadow Mastery] and [Shadow Reinforcement]
Even after the succession of a class, it didn't always give the Mahasayer any ability. At least, that was written in the notes in the letter. Every ability slot is precious, and it highly determines the path of the user. Anton already had three ability slots filled up, though they were low grade now, each two of them was extremely rare in the Maha Tower apart from the [Maha Mana Manipulation].
Anton should be like him, awakening his ability after Omega origin assimilation.
Wrik restrained his thoughts as he looked up to notice the arrival of two familiar figures. One was Davin in his armour, and the other was the new fellow they saved yesterday, Evan Welsh.
"Let's go."
