The result had been sent to everyone who participated in the contest. The first rank has been announced.
Since morning, Ashley cannot sit still. She is waiting for someone in the classroom. She knows who the first rank is. What comes after the result message is, the message from the person who got the first rank. It is ridiculous. Everyone in the classroom does not know who is the person. They are curious and feels threaten by the message they received.
Wendy comes late and after she enter the classroom everyone is crowding her including Ashley.
"Wendy, are you in charge of the result?"
"They scored 96% average all in every subjects!"
"What is the message we have gotten now?"
"Is this valid to everyone in the school?"
"How did he participate in the contest?"
Wendy almost want to get out of the classroom.
"Wends, this message...should we obey it?" Suddenly Ashley ask the most important question. Wendy regrets her decision.
The Faith and Hope club is having an emergency meeting. Ashley is does not want to involve anymore. Besides, Wendy told her to stay out of the council meeting for a while. She has no option to follow. She looks at her phone and open the message. The name on her phone screen shows the name of the first rank for the contest. She gets heavy feeling about it now. What should she do?
Suddenly she receive a message from Matthew.
Matthew: Where you at?
Ashley: Infirmary.
Matthew: Are you sick?
Ashley: No. I'm hiding...
Matthew: Lol. Why?
Ashley: Don't ask. Come here quick!
Ashley put her phone on the desk. She lie on the bed and rest her arms on her forehead.
"Ridiculous..." She say.
She know that she won't win the prize because she just an average student. She wants to win the money prize to help her family. Now that she has failed, she must find a job.
"What a sight..." Matthew comes in and found that Ashley is lying with her leg cross almost shown her underpants. Ashley quickly gets up because she realize it is not a proper pose.
"I'm just tired. That's all." Ashley sit down.
"Is it because you didn't get the money?" Ask Matthew. He sit besides her.
"No... I don't mind being poor." She pout. Clearly she minds.
"Look on the bright side, your result is quite high. You can apply the famous college with that." Matthew give a word of encouragement. Ashley looks at Matthew in his face.
"What? Even if you said you don't want to apply for college, I will still motivate you to study." Matthew cross his arms. Ashley smiles.
"Your result is 99% in average of all the subjects." Ashley say. She has been meaning to say something.
"Why didn't you participate in the contest? You could be the alpha leader, you could get money, don't you want that?" Ask Ashley curious. Matthew has the best result indeed. Matthew is laughing softly.
"That's not what I aim for." He smiles while looking at Ashley.
"Then, what is your aim?" Ask Ashley. Matthew silence. Ashley is waiting for his answer. Their eyes meet. Ashley begin to feel warm in her face. Her heartbeats begin to rise. Matthew lost in his thought as he move forward to smell the warmth's smells coming out from Ashley. They are in a moment where the time is stop. Staring at each other without saying anything.
'Kring kring kring kring' The notification sound from Ashley's phone goes off.
Both of them are shock with the sound. Ashley quickly takes her phone at the near desk. Matthew looks elsewhere. They both are blushing in red. Ashley almost forgot her phone password. She try twice to unlock her phone.
"Ah~ New message.." Ashley break the silence.
"Oh.. Really." Matthew pulls his neck. He feels like he wants to stretch. As Ashley is reading a message, Matthew gets up and stretch his arms forward and upward.
"You gotta be kidding me!" Ashley yell. Matthew turn to Ashley.
"No no no!" Ashley cover her mouth.
"What's wrong?" Matthew comes near to her. Ashley show her phone. He reads out loud.
"The first rank. Kevin Nin. Year 2. A message from the new alpha leader. Every alpha must come out to the gym and confront me. No omegas and betas allow." Matthew read.
"Kevin Nin? The one that confess to you in the cafe right?" Ask Matthew. Of course he know him too. Ashley nod like crazy.
"He is not a senior. How did he even participate and take the Year 3 final exam? Matthew looks confuse.
"I also don't understand this situation." Ashley give up.
As they are told, all the alpha in the school has to confront the leader in the gym. Since the school bell has just rang, it is time to go home. Betas and omegas has already leave the school. While alpha students are gathering at the gym inclusing Ashley and Matthew.
Ashley is looking for Wendy in the crowd. She cannot reach her in the phone and always gets into the voicemail box channel.
"Where the heck are you Wends?" Ask Ashley to herself. She does not care about the crowd no more. Her scent is coming out little by little.
"Ashley... Ashley.." Matthew calls her a few times. But Ashleys is more focusing to search for Wendy.
"Ashley!" Matthew grab her hand and Ashley fall into his arms unconciously. She looks surprise.
"Look at me.." He say while she is in his arms. Ashley slowly looks in his face. Matthew looks so worry.
"You scent is coming out. Try to calm down a little." He say.
"I... I'm sorry." Ashley pull herself back and try to gather her strength.
"SILENCE!" A voice is coming out from the speaker system installed around the gym. The alpha students are outraging. Somes are exciting to hear from the leader, some are frightened, some are confused.
"I AM YOUR LEADER FOR 3 MONTHS. IN THOSE TIMES, I WILL GIVE YOU MY COMMANDS." He say.
The students begin to hear what he have to say.
"I WILL INTRODUCE MYSELF TO YOU. MY NAME IS KEVIN NIN. I AM FROM CLASS YEAR 2. MY TYPE IS OMEGA. AND I SCORE 96% AVERAGE IN SENIOR FINAL EXAMINATION LAST WEEK." The 'Year 2' statement is more shocking that reveal that he is an omega. Kevin sounds arrogant in the speaker.
"I WILL ANNOUNCE EVERY COMMAND VIA TEXT. AS FOR OTHER SCHOOL, THEY WILL RECEIVE DIFFERENT COMMAND FROM MY SUBORDINATES. AND FIRST COMMAND, IS TO CALL ME AS THE ALPHA LEADER KEVIN." He laugh at the end of his speech. Some student feels very annoying.
"That's a long name to say.." Matthew say.
"I wonder who is his subordinates are." Ashley curious. After the speech end, the alpha students go home. Kevin didn't not show himself though. They kind of annoyed with Kevin but they have to obey him no matter what. It is part of the rule. Many has disappointed with themself for not getting the result. However, most of the student scores 90% above this will increase the school reputation.
