"What? What is it?" Feline jogged up. Sean snickered as he found it adorable. He held out the bracelet, showing it to her. Feline widened her eyes as she saw it. Something came up to her that made her look up.
"I found this underneath my bed. It's something that looks familiar, but... I don't know where I've seen it," Sean muttered. He held it out into light as he looked upon the bracelet. Feline did the same thing too. Sean pointed at the linings on the insides of the bracelet. He looked at Feline, and she averted her eyes to him.
"What was that?" she asked. They're both scrutinizing the insides of the bracelet. That's when Feline knew what it said. She widened her eyes as Sean looked at her. She cracked her mouth open, trying to remember where did she saw it.
"Do you... own this? It's yours, am I right?" Sean blinked. Feline bit her lip for a moment. She tilted her head to one side. The first time she saw that bracelet... was the first time her heart got broken into pieces.
...
Gustin University's premises glowed in a moment. The sunlight rays of the early afternoon shone through the buildings. The hallways were clear, desolated at this rate. Students scribbled notes on their notebooks simultaneously listening to their professor. Others were sleeping.
But only two students stayed in the park outside of the class. Their section was the luckiest. Their professor took a leave, on vacation right at this moment. The two talked to each other. As silence ensued, the guy pulled out something from his pockets.
Friya smiled, showing off her front teeth. Her pony-tailed hair whished in the wind. She averted her eyes to Sean as it showed something from his palm. Friya beamed while Sean looked straight at her eyes.
Sean muttered, "I want to give something to you. Can you accept it?"
Friya furrowed her eyebrows, asking to herself why couldn't she. If someone wanted to give her some love, she would... wholeheartedly accept it no matter what. It's rare to feel the love. Friya looked at the bracelet with the beads tied at the center to support it.
"It was a simple gift. But I want to give it to you," Sean lent his palm. The bracelet sat calmly at that hand. Friya looked up as the smile vanished. She chortled as Sean smiled back at her.
"You're going to accept it, right?" Sean added. His heart thumped louder, trying to control his emotions from rising. He was going to give it to her with his heart attached to it. Friya stifles a gasp, pretending that it was a surprise. She expressed that wide grin, and Sean's dimples showed up.
"Of course, I would accept it---" Friya cut off herself when suddenly Sean retrieved her hand. He touched her in wrist, grab a hold of the bracelet, and slipped it inside her hand. Friya didn't know what she could feel with that touch.
It was something she's afraid of. She retracted her wrist in an instant as Sean placed the bracelet securely. Friya looked at the other way as Sean's hands froze in midair. He bit his lip as he stuttered, "What's wrong? Did I... did something wrong?"
Sean wanted to burst out immediately. The awkward air joined them soon. Friya held her hand for a longer time, catching her breath. It was like an electricity. The sensation that brought a chill down her spine. She didn't know how she could elaborate on it. Friya swallowed constantly. The lump in her throat stayed there after a while.
Sean asked, "Are you okay? Do you want to go back to our classroom?"
"No," Friya suddenly turned to him. She blinked several times. She released that grip from her palms. Friya and Sean stared into each other's eyes. Sean wanted to convey what those eyes meant to him. Friya hitched her breath, apologizing.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to remove my hand from your touch." Friya tucked the loose strands of her hair. She didn't remove that bracelet, it was special after all. It came from Sean himself. Sean suppressed a smile. He raised his hand, patting her head.
In that split second touch, Friya's heart skipped a beat. Sean continued to soothe her hair as they both looked into each other, dead serious. Sean's beam never went away as long as his with Friya. It was the same thing to her, too.
Someone was watching them from a distance. A tall girl, hair in a bun, thin lips, and those glaring eyes. She gripped the lunch box in both her hands. She observed Friya and Sean talking to each other.
"Feline!" Someone called out her name. Feline dropped the lunch box at the floor. Her anger boiled up in her blood with passion. She stomped her heels away, taking the stairs. She didn't even bother to look at her friends.
The lunchbox clung to the ground, opening up. It spilled its contents on the floor as Feline left it there. That damned bracelet. How special was it? Feline whispered obscenities in her mind. She headed straight to the bathroom, bursting the door open.
The girls at the sink area surprised themselves. They saw Feline fuming in one cubicle. Feline slammed the door, the tears fell down on her cheeks. She closed her eyes; the pain crept up in her heart. She sat down at the bowl with the lid closed, and she buried her face in her palms.
Feline cried her eyes out. How long was it since she talked to Sean? It was months ago, after she planned to confess. But it all thrown down into trash once again. Feline sobbed uncontrollably. Her shoulders shook as the sight of Friya and Sean talking to each other came to her vision. She closed her eyes, shaking her head.
She thumped her chest, trying to let go of the pain. It wouldn't let go of her. Her feelings blossomed without someone to catch into. How can she... overcome this?
