Chapter 21 - 2.12

Back in his room Mason put the unconscious Kailey gently on his bed. Bringing her here was no problem at all. Mason had to admit that even though he totally disliked the hypnotization and indoctrination program, sometimes it came in handy, like now. Nobody thought him carrying around an unconscious girl was weird, especially since that was something commonly seen in the presidential palace. The servants just thought he was following orders, and that he thus didn't do anything against the law.

Mason gently tucked a loose hair behind Kailey's ear and caressed her hair. She looked so peaceful asleep, totally different compared to her screaming. Her pinkish lips were slightly opened and they looked so soft. 'How would it be to kiss them?' Mason pondered.

Unconsciously he closed in on Kailey's face and almost did he give in to temptation, but luckily he stopped himself in time. He might be a criminal, but he had morals! He wasn't a beast like those elites. He knew that kissing someone without their permission was wrong and he would never do that to the one he liked, no matter how badly he wanted to. They had to at least be awake, and have the ability to make clear their feelings! Besides, kissing an unconscious person must be boring, since they can't reciprocate the kiss. Mason wanted Kailey to know when he kissed her and see how she would react. But still, her lips were alluring and he really wanted to taste them.

With a sigh he removed himself from Kailey, and called Darian. He didn't have a lot of time to fix his predicament. As soon as Darian Davis picked up the phone, he started talking.

"Darian, it's me Mason. I have a problem. I need you to bring me the prototype immediately," Mason said hurriedly.

"Hold up. What's the problem? Tell me slowly," Darian said with a mix of worry and annoyance. Hadn't he told Mason to only call on the fixed times? He was really testing Darian's patience and this better be better than last time.

Mason was frustrated. He just needed the prototype. He didn't have time for all this explaining! His undercover status was in danger.

"I accidentally revealed my identity to Kailey King. She is unconscious in my room, right now. We don't have a lot of time before the president's son returns and starts looking for her. The prototype is our only hope of keeping my identity a secret. I need it. Now."

Darian massaged his temples. This was really bad news. "Are you sure that woman is worth it? Are you sure she will be on our side after we use the prototype? If you even have one moment of doubt, than I think it's better to get rid of her."

Mason wasn't sure. Even though Kailey obviously had negative thoughts about William, she still seemed strangely attached to William. It was possible she would betray them even after they'd used the prototype. But even if that was the case, he would absolutely never kill her. He would regret it for the rest of his life. Mason was convinced that the prototype was the only right course of action.

"I am absolutely positive about my decision," he said convincingly to Darian. He might have doubt towards Kailey, but not towards his principles. Never harm another human being unless there is absolutely no way out, especially one you care about.

"I'll give the prototype to a palace guard named Jessica. She's with me right now at headquarters. Her shift starts within an hour and she'll be stationed at the east servant entrance." If Mason had called at any other moment it wouldn't have been possible, but it seemed fate was on their side.

"Got it. Thank you, Darian."

"Don't thank me yet. The prototype might not work and then you'll have no other choice but to execute that woman. Don't make mistakes like this one ever again, Mason, or I'll have you removed from your position. This is your last chance." Darian hung up the phone.

Mason slumped besides the bed. He was so relieved. He had never thought he would get the prototype so fast. He was in luck. If that Jessica wasn't with Darian at right this moment, he would've needed to wait forever! He was really thankful right now.

An hour later he successfully got the prototype from Jessica and returned to his room. The prototype was a small device that was easy to smuggle because it was in the form of normal glasses. This form was also ideal for achieving its goal; reversing the effects of the hypnotization and indoctrination. The Criminals had worked really hard on this project, so they could set not only the unborn generation free, but all people. At this point in time however, they hadn't yet had the opportunity to test out its effects. Kailey would be the first.

When Mason opened the door he saw that Kailey was still asleep. Although it was good she didn't cause any trouble, he was starting to really get worried. Had he hit her to hard?

Mason softly pinched Kailey's cheek. "Wake up." She didn't wake up immediately, but after a few tries she started to move.

Lea's entire body ached. Her knees and head were throbbing and something kept probing her cheek. It was irritating her. Slowly she opened her eyes to see Mason's handsome face. Her body reacted immediately and started to yell, but it had little effect. Something was stuffed in her mouth what muffled her screams. When Lea started to struggle as well, she noticed her arms and legs were tied with rope.

Mason had kidnapped her, and not only that but he had also tied her up! Why did these kind of situations keep occurring? Did Lea maybe have the words 'kidnap me, please' written on her face? Did she? Well, honestly she didn't blame Mason. She had started to shout and almost revealed his identity to anyone who was nearby. He didn't have another choice, but still. Abducting people was not cool – unless it was in some sort of kinky sexual fantasy, like roleplaying in which both parties enjoy it.

[SOS! Dwyl, I think I'm in trouble.]

[Dwyl: With me? Yes, you are.]

Dwyl had been keeping an eye on Lea's actions this entire time, and he wasn't happy at all.

[No! I'm mean Mason. He kidnapped me!]

[Dwyl: Indeed! I thought you were going to match Mason and me. What are you seducing him for?]

Dwyl was outraged. It already knew its chances were almost impossible, but Lea had insisted on helping him. Dwyl had almost thought that with Lea's help it might be possible, but he could've known that was false hope. Lea isn't helping at all! She's only making things worse, and making Mason fall in love with her.

[Seducing? How am I seducing him?]

[Dwyl: Falling through your knees, playing the damsel in distress, biting your tongue so he needs to check it. You're so obvious!]

[May I remind you, those things all happened because I was trying to say positive things about you.]

[Dwyl: Yeah, really helpful. You can't even think about me in a positive way. He said he would never ever date me!]

Dwyl had been heartbroken when he heard Mason say that. His tender heart that had just received hope from Lea, was smashed to pieces once again. How many times would he need to hear those words of rejection? Dwyl was sick of it. So sick of it. He just wanted to be happy with the one he loved. Why must he be hurt like this?

[He didn't mean it, Dwyl. You are awesome, you are cute and you are the boss! At total catch. He just hasn't had the chance yet to get to know you.]

Dwyl snorted. Yeah right. They have known each other for years. Maybe not William and Mason, but he and… Writer. If Writer could fall in love with Dwyl, then it would've happened by now.

[Dwyl: It doesn't matter if he knows me or not, he only has eyes for you. He abducted you, while he could have simply killed you, but he is to smitten with you to do that.]

[Not everyone is a ruthless person like you. But Dwyl, enough chatting. Come save me!]

[Dwyl: You are not in any danger. If you'll excuse me, I'm going to vent some of my frustrations by f**king some beautiful men. Bye, bye.]

[…]

[Did you just say what I think you said?]

[Dwyl?]

[Can you record that?]

[I want to see!] Lea called desperately, but the coldhearted Dwyl refused to answer her.

A small distance away from Lea, Dwyl sneered. That will teach that backstabbing host a lesson. Is there anything worse for a fujoshi then to be baited with the image of two or more boys together but then never seeing a glimpse of it? If she really wanted to see it, she should put in more effort for Mason and him. That is the only boyxboy relationship that should interest her! This was just the perfect revenge. His host will be punished and he can have some mind-numbing fun.

Lea was crying in her heart. Her sweet, feisty, cute system had abandoned her! This was even worse than all the physical pain she was going through right now.

"Shhh…" Mason shushed the thrashing Kailey. "Don't worry. I'm going to help you."

'Help me? How?' Lea thought. 'Are you going to kill me to relieve me from my suffering? Are you going to give me a medicine to soothe my sore throat? Or even better, and are you going to go to William right now, get angry at him for having s*x with other men and then f**k him senseless as a punishment? Which is it? I prefer the last.'

Mason took out the glasses and put them on Kailey's face. He was amazed at how pretty they were on her. She would probably look good in anything, now that he thought of it.

Lea had question marks all over her face. How is putting on old-fashioned glasses going to help her? There was nothing wrong with her eyesight, and even though Kailey's fashion sense could be better, those glasses would definitely not improve it.

"I just need to find that button," Mason mumbled to himself, while going over the surface of the glasses with his fingers. "Aha! Found it. Kailey, I promise this won't hurt."

Lea panicked. 'What won't hurt? Why would you tell me something like that? Now I'm scared!'

Mason pressed the button and a flash appeared from the glasses straight into Lea's eyes. She was blinded for a second, and then it was over. Lea was confused. What was that flash?

"Are you able to stop screaming at me?" Mason asked worriedly. He really hoped the prototype worked.

Lea thought it was a strange question. Of course she can no… Oh. She stopped shrieking. How was that possible?

"That's great! It worked!" Mason tenderly removed the fabric that was in Kailey's mouth.

Lea was glad that uncomfortable thing was out of her mouth. "What did you do?" she asked puzzled.

Mason put his finger on Kailey's lips. "No, no. Before I reveal all my cards, you need to answer some questions first."

Mason's finger was slightly cold on Lea's lips, which caused a strange tingling feeling to go through her body. It distracted her from being outraged at being shushed yet again, after having been obstructed to talk freely. She actually wanted to lick that finger. Maybe it would taste like a popsicle.

She nodded, which caused Mason's finger to rub against her. Aah, she really wanted to have a bite!

She tried to create order in her muddled brain, but it was really hard. Her body seemed to be on fire, and that finger was sending tingles all the way down to her private parts. What was wrong with her? This was totally not the time, place, or right person. Mason was reserved for Dwyl! She couldn't give in to such a perverted impulse.

"Now, tell me honestly what you think about the way the presidential families all over the world treat the people." Mason asked seriously. Kailey's answer to this question would determine how much he could reveal to her, and what his next actions would be. It was crucial to get an honest answer.
