Chapter 4 - 1.3

When Moon left Winter's place, he couldn't rest easy. He meant what he said; he'll make her pay. Winter humiliated him. This was the first time ever someone rejected Moon! He knew that Winters reputation wasn't great. She was known to be cruel, cold and selfish. He'd completely dismissed those rumors because to him she was kind and sweet. If he'd known it was just a scheme to use him, he wouldn't have gotten involved with her. But now he had and he must take revenge!

The only problem was: how? The only power he had as the god Moon, was a little bit control over the god Sea and the power to illuminate the night. Nothing he could use to make Winter miserable. The only thing that could help him was Sun. But honestly, he was a tiny bit scared of her. She hadn't said anything about his little flirts, but maybe that was because the news never reached her ears? He could imagine that the other gods and goddesses would be scared to bring bad news to her. But come on! Sun had forced him to marry her. She couldn't really expect him to stay loyal in a loveless marriage, where both partners only see each other a few times a year? No, she couldn't, he decided. He would ask his powerful wife for help. Moon's pride was hurt immensely! If Sun really loved him like she claimed, she would forgive his missteps and make Winter pay for treating him badly.

"Cloud!" Moon yelled. Cloud was a weaker goddess, who was at the mercy of most gods and goddesses. Luckily for her she had one thing going for her; she could freely move however she wanted without needing to follow a strict pattern. This made Cloud the messenger between gods and goddesses. So to a certain extent everyone needed to be nice to her, lest she tamper with their messages.

Cloud came floating before Moon, her fluffy bouncy hair making all kind of shapes. "Can I help you with something?"

"Yes, I need to send a message to Sun."

Cloud seemed to stiffen. "What for? I don't remember you ever voluntary contacting her."

Moon glared at Cloud. "I'm in a horrible mood, so would you just take my message and deliver it to her?"

"Fine. State your message." Cloud conceded.

With every word Moon uttered, Cloud became darker and darker. She had a feeling this would possibly end badly for her. Sigh, hopefully she could convince Sun the messenger wasn't to blame.

After Moon left Lea alone in the room, she looked around to realize there wasn't a door anywhere in sight.

[How do I leave this room?]

[Dwyl: You would've know if you accepted the memory transfer.]

[Tsk… Can't you just give me the information when I ask for it?]

[Dwyl: That's so troublesome. Why should I work more just because you refuse such a convenient feature?]

Lea sighed. She knew Dwyl had a point, but still… She was scared of such a huge amount of information!

[Because I'm asking you nicely? And because you are the best system that has ever existed!]

[Dwyl: I have a feeling that you're only going to be nice to me and acknowledge my awesomeness whenever you need me. That won't work on the long term, you know.]

[I'm always nice to my adorable system.]

[Dwyl: I don't like to be treated like a child. But because I appreciate your efforts, I'll make you a deal: let me choose our next world and the role you'll play in it, and I'll help you make up for the lost memories.]

Lea was quiet for a while. This deal felt like a trap. A trap that would swallow her whole, but what could she do? Without Dwyl's help she couldn't even get out of the room!

[I'll accept your offer. Now tell me how I can leave the room!]

[Dwyl: You're a god. To a certain extent you can teleport. Just think about where you want to go with the intention of going there.]

[Does being the goddess Winter mean I can't go to the Sahara or something?]

[Dwyl: You are smarter than I thought.]

[Then how do I meet with Winters siblings?]

[Dwyl: You can't go to certain places on Earth, but that doesn't mean you can't move in the realm of the gods and goddesses.]

[I understand, but if the restrictions on Earth don't influence this realm, why can Sun and Moon only meet a few times a year?]

[Dwyl: … I'll report this plot hole to Writer as soon as I can!]

[This Writer of yours doesn't seem that good of a writer.]

[Don't insult Writer! They create thousands of worlds every day. Just because this escaped their mind, doesn't mean that they aren't a genius!]

Lea shook her head. Dwyl was obviously in love with that Writer! Why else would you call someone a genius who overlooked such a big mistake?

[Dwyl: For the thousand time; I'm not in love with Writer! I just admire them. It's admiration and respect. Absolutely nothing else.]

[Alright, alright. I believe you.]

Lea no longer paid attention to the system and was deciding which sibling she should meet first. When she made her decision she tried to teleport for the first time. It was a success.

Cloud was shaking when she entered Sun's place. She really didn't want to do this. If only she could be any other god or goddess, she would be pleased. Her life was on stake here! Sun's sunrays could dissipate her in only one moment.

"Cloud!" Sun said happily.

Cloud didn't fall into the trap. She knew Sun didn't like her, because she sometimes obstructed Sun's view.

"To what do I owe this pleasure?" Sun motioned Cloud to come closer.

"I have a message for you." Cloud was shivering, when she said this. Could she still back down?

"From who?" Sun asked curiously. It didn't happen every day a god or goddess send her a message. If someone wanted something from her, they often just came themselves. Sun was a very available and approachable goddess after all.

"Your… your husband, Moon."

This surprised Sun. Normally she didn't hear anything from her dearest husband. She had used Cloud before, to shower him with love declarations, but he never answered. Maybe today, her wishes will finally be fulfilled!

"Oh? That's rare. What does he have to say?"

Cloud couldn't help but pity Sun. She seemed so excited to hear something from her husband, not knowing what the message contained.

Cloud swallowed the big lump in her throat and started talking. "Moon, wanted me to tell you that he has been seriously humiliated by the goddess Winter."

Sun frowned. "Humiliated?" How dare someone do that to her cute little husband? Who did that Winter think she was?

"Yes, Moon was seeking… companionship with Winter, but she blatantly refused him and called Moon a simple accessory to enhance her beauty."

Sun was confused. Confused and suspicious. "What do you mean with 'companionship'?" Sun wanted to believe Cloud just meant friendship, but she wasn't stupid! The way Cloud hesitated when whispering that word made her fear the worst.

"Uhm… I don't know?"

"Do you mean to imply my husband meant to cheat on me?"

Cloud was raining. She couldn't help it! Sun's calm inquiry was scary! "I don't know…"

Sun was getting hotter and hotter with every second. Her husband went to another woman, for this so called companionship! She showered him with love, and this is what she got? She could forgive him ignoring her. Sun did kind of force him into a marriage, but she at least expected loyalty! Maybe it would be a different story if he was the one being seduced, but hearing this message it seemed that he was the one doing the seducing! Why else would he be so angry?

Sun's anger towards her husband rose. Did he do this before? Was Winter the first one he tried to seduce? Or was she just the first one who refused?

"Tell me, Cloud, what is Moon's purpose with telling me this? Didn't he think I'd be angry at him?"

"He… he wants you to punish Winter. According to him his pride has been hurt, and that equals to your pride being hurt as well. Husband and wife should take revenge if someone wrongs their partner, he said."

"I must say, I'm quite disappointed with him. His reasoning is incredibly faulty, and this just shows he doesn't know me at all!"

"What are you going to do, Sun?"

Sun looked at Cloud and realized she had rained all over her floor. "Oh dear, are you alright?"

"I'm fine, sorry for ruining your home."

"Don't apologize! You did nothing wrong. I can imagine being the harbinger of bad news must have been very distressful."

Cloud looked at Sun with grateful eyes. She was glad Sun didn't vent her anger on her.

"About what I'm going to do, I want to have a talk with Winter. Who knows when I'd realize Moons true nature, if it wasn't for her. I should thank her for putting him in his place."

Cloud looked doubtfully at Sun's face. Was she really going to thank Winter? It seemed such a strange thing to do; to thank the person with whom her husband tried to have an affair. Who would do such a thing? She hoped for Winter's sake that Sun wasn't brewing some sort of weird plan and really just wanted to thank her. Cloud rather liked Winter after all, even though Winter wasn't very nice and didn't acknowledge Cloud like her equal, she always gave Cloud fun tasks to perform, like helping her with a snowstorm. Cloud loved snowstorms. She and Winter were a very good team! It would be a shame if Sun put a stop to that.
