"What are you?"
Ruth couldn't avoid that question anymore, not after knowing that Cara could help her.
Taking a long breath, Ruth answered, "A human."
"No! That's not possible. A human can't possess such powers." Cara argued, narrowing her eyes.
"I don't know how I got these powers Cara, but they were always there within me. Just like you said before, it took me long to realise them. My parents were pure humans and died when I was young. So I don't know from where I got these powers."
Cara was not convinced by Ruth's answer. She felt there was something more to Ruth's story, but that woman was a hard nut to crack.
"Did my husband know about your powers?"
"I don't know. I never met him in person." Ruth answered truthfully.
Cara suddenly chuckled, shaking her head. Her long curly hair bounced with the movement of her head.
"What I am even asking? You wouldn't have been sitting here if Reznor knew about your powers."
