The air inside the cottage was thick with an unexplainable feeling. Ruth sat across Cara on the couch while Edwin waited outside the cottage with others, his eyes fixated on the closed door.
What did Cara have to say to Ruth that she couldn't in front of everyone? Edwin wondered.
"Edwin"
He glanced down to see Zoe leaning to whisper in his ear though she didn't need to. She could have just whispered to herself while standing at a distance and yet Edwin would have caught her words with his supernatural powers.
"I know your mate has these magical powers but shouldn't you have considered twice before leaving your wife with a witch? I mean I am sure Ruth's powers are no match to Cara's, right?"
Edwin glanced at her, pursing his lips.
"Have you forgotten that her husband's dangerous creation is the root cause of our misery?"
