Elsie gasped, feeling a pair of arms around her, followed by a taunting laugh.
"Lester!" She glared at him, pushing his hands away from her.
Lester's laughter died as soon as he noticed her expression. Did she see something in the garden which soured her mood? He followed the direction where her gaze was fixated before but only to see the workers busy with their duties.
He observed Elsie as she stomped toward her bed and slumped down, looking distressed. Lester's mood changed, and he followed her to sit beside her.
"Elsie?"
"Hmm?"
"Are you okay?" He asked tenderly.
He picked on how her heart raced at his question before she nodded her head. "yes."
"Then why I can't see it? Are you missing Edwin?" Elsie bit her lip, suppressing the tears that threatened to spill out of her eyes.
Lester knew Elsie like the back of his hand. After all, she was not only his mate but also his childhood friend. He was acquainted with her every little mannerism.
