There was a certain tension in the air, but none could point it out loudly. Ruth was moving and working swiftly but in silence. Right after breakfast, she took her weapons and began practising taking everyone by surprise.
Thea glanced at Edwin, who was also unnaturally quiet though the man spoke little anyways. His cerulean blue eyes were trained only on his mate.
Thea couldn't read what was going on between the couple. She caught Ruth giving assuring smiles to Edwin every now and then.
"Can someone please explain me what is going on between them?"
Zoe's annoyance-filled whisper startled Thea while she stood observing Ruth and Edwin.
"I heard voices coming from their room last night. But they belonged only to Lord Edwin."
"And you didn't bother to check because?" Rees crossed his arms over his chest, narrowing his eyes at Kevin.
