After travelling for some more days, the black ship finally touched the land. Ruth liked the ocean, but the land kept calling her, and the fact that she would now get to see the world outside Vincardine made her even more excited.
She was up early in the morning despite Edwin's resistance. She got readied, and since then, she began bugging Edwin to get up when the sun was not even up in the sky.
When she couldn't get Edwin awake, she went to Thea and Rees's room to get them ready. Rees kept complaining but woke up and did everything that Ruth demanded.
"If you weren't my Luna then I would have tied you in a corner with your mouth covered." He had grumbled in annoyance.
"Well let me enjoy the perks of being a Luna for some time."
And now, at ten in the morning, the sun was already up in the sky, blazing hotly. Kevin wiped his forehead for the umpteenth time as he asked, "Why it is so hot here? How do people survive in this place?"
