Elsie was with Mr Welby, discussing some things about the shipyard's work when Laila scurried her way with tiffin in her hand.
"Lady Elsieee... Lady Elsieee..."
"Slow down Laila or you will trip and fall." Mr Welby's stern voice stopped Laila in her tracks, her eyes widened to see him there.
Why Mira didn't alert her about Mr Welby's presence there though she knew how Laila feared him? She must have done it intentionally. Laila pursed her lips, mad at Mira.
Elsie smiled, looking at the young girl and said, "Come in, Laila."
Laila made her way to Elsie, avoiding looking up at the man who was a replica of Rees but was more serious and more fierce than his son, who was sweet and played with Laila whenever he got some time.
"What have you brought Laila?" Elsie asked, eyeing the tiffin box in her hand.
Laila looked down now, only remembering why she was there.
