Eloise felt trapped in the powder room as Harold blocked her way out. She feared someone would barge inside and see them together.
Edwin's angry face popped into her mind, and she shuddered visibly at the thought of her cousin knowing about it. How disappointed he would feel with her!
She needed to get out of there before any of that happened.
She tried to walk past Harold, but he pulled her back before pushing her into the wall behind her. Eloise gasped when he was right in front of her.
Without any warning, he hid his face in the crook of her neck, sniffing her scent. He could sense how scared she was yet the way her heart reacted to his proximity satisfied him.
Eloise's eyes shut tight, and she grabbed her dress in her fists. Her knees felt weak with every light touch of the tip of Harold's nose on her skin.
"M-Mr Davies, P-please!" She pleaded.
