Harold was in Eloise's chamber. He helped her with treating the cut on her arm, but their discussion began to take a wrong turn which made him make a hard choice.
"Maybe I shouldn't have come here." Harold tried to get up.
"Runnning away again from facing the situation, aren't we?" Eloise's icy words froze him in his tracks.
His face remained away from her, and the muscles in his back tensed.
Was it what she thought about him? A coward?
He turned his face to meet her challenging eyes. He sat down again, looking at her eye to eye.
"You think I am a coward?" His voice turned dark again with the edge of anger to his every word.
"Aren't you?"
"Eloise!" He warned.
She was pushing the wrong buttons here. How could this woman be so confident to sit there in that half-naked state, flaunting her natural seductive beauty while challenging his braveness?
Only she could do that! He always knew!
"Harold" Her voice suddenly changed. It came tender just the way she spoke last time.
