Eloise couldn't sleep the whole night. Since her last encounter with Harold, she was shaken to the core by her own reaction to it. She was also heartbroken at his reaction.
Why did he leave like that?
As if... as if he didn't want to be with her. He didn't want to get anywhere close to her.
Why?
What was so wrong in her that repulsed him to that extent?
All her years of insecurities were flamed by that one man. For a moment, she even thought to go back to her old self- cold, reserved, arrogant and always her defences up.
At least she was unapproachable then and thus less vulnerable.
But then she also didn't want to miss the life she was living now. She had her sister, her cousins and her friends by her side, to share both her happiness and sadness.
They loved her dearly, and she would only be a fool to push everything away because of one person!
