Zoe knocked on the door of Edwin's chamber. She waited a few seconds before the door opened by him. He smiled as soon as he saw her.
"Zoe? Come in."
She entered his room and asked, "Where is everyone? I went to see Ruth before but she is not in her chmaber. And I haven't seen Ida too."
"Honestly, I don't know where they are. But Thea is in the manor if you need her help for anything."
She shrugged her shoulders before plopping down on the couch.
"It's fine. I was just getting bored sitting in my room. When I didn't find anyone, I thought of meeting you. I hope you are not busy with work." She looked around, and fortunately, there were no papers or inkpots in his room.
"Not really. I just came from my office a few minutes ago. But Raynold is here. You could have-"
"Don't even think of it!" She warned him, showing her palm.
"Your cousin is obnoxious!"
Edwin frowned in displease. "He is my elder cousin, Zoe."
"That doesn't make him immune to my opinions, Edwin."
