"Why?"
Ruth's question made Edwin embrace himself for what was about to come his way. Though he admired and immensely respected her powers, he didn't like when they came out because of her anger.
Those powers were meant to defeat evil and protect the good and not for use against the people she loved.
"Stop right there" She threatened when he took a step in her way.
But Edwin didn't stop. He kept closing the distance between them only to see the orange in her eyes burning brighter and brighter.
"I said STOP RIGHT THERE!"
A flame had left her left hand to collide with the chair nearby to blast it into splinters. However, that didn't bother Edwin.
He was nervous, and he was not going to deny that. Every time Ruth's powers were awake, a strange fear crippled him as if he feared that those very powers that made her more unique and stronger may turn against her.
