Eloise was in her chamber, sitting on her bed. Her eyes were fixated on the white handkerchief in her hands. She didn't realize when an hour passed as she sat there thoughtfully. There was so much going on in her mind, but no matter how much she tried, she couldn't bring herself to take a step forward.
She was still confused and unsure.
Would anyone believe her? Would they support her? Would they realize how she had spent all her life in that guilt, anger, pain and fear? Would they do something substantial to help her?
There were many questions, and though she had no way to get answers for them, she couldn't bring herself to just do it. That was her problem all along. If only she was brave enough…
"Lady Eloise? Lady Eloise?"
Startled at Ruth's voice, Eloise hid that handkerchief under the mattress of her bed. When she looked up, she saw Ruth staring at her in confusion.
Did she… see that? Eloise's heart picked up a pace.
"What happened? Are you okay?" Ruth asked.
